OCTOBER 20, 2015 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Let My Life Be The Proof of Your Love This statement should prompt us all and how we re-present Christ to the world. How we act! How we speak! How we live! How we love! Only in and through Christ alive within us can this be proof of God’s love. How will we as a church become the proof of God’s love in 2016? The way of course that we do that is to commit more and sacrifice more to that which God calls us to. A great guide for this growth is found in the book I have been asking every member to read entitled I Am A Church Member by Thom S. Rainer. Many members have read it. If you haven’t, please pick one up in the Gathering Area. The book outlines the six areas we should commit to for us to become the church members God is calling us to be. Soon the leadership team will have meetings to determine who will lead the dierent ministries of the church and to seek out the vision God has for us in 2016. Please be in prayer for these leaders and the direction our church is headed. Know that our teams will be committed to competence and excellence in all that they do. They will be good stewards of all that God gives us. With this kind of committed leadership, who knows where God will take us? So what role does each of us play in the coming year? I think God is calling us to live out Paul’s words “that we become living sacrifices Holy (Wholly to) and acceptable to God.” Pray that God would show you what that means in your life. How to give yourself fully to God and see the dierence you can make in this Body of Christ. So let us commit to God and one another to become the church that loves as God has called us to love and serve as Jesus as Jesus did. That all may come to know Christ and Him crucified. Peace, Pastor Paul Stewardship Sunday This Sunday is STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY. Your “pledge” is an act of faith that God is at work at Richland Hills Christian Church, and you want to join in and do your part to support and strengthen the ministries. On October 25 and November 1 we will have an opportunity during the worship service to place our individual pledge cards into the RHCC stewardship basket. We ask each person to pray for God’s guidance in making out his or her pledge card. If you have any questions about pledging or about how the money will be used, feel free to ask any RHCC deacon, elder, Pastor Paul or John Howard, Stewardship Chair.

THE CHURCH VIS ITOR

Let My Life Be The Proof of Your Love

This statement should prompt us all and how we re-present Christ to the world. How we act! How we speak! How we live! How we love! Only in and through Christ alive within us can this be proof of God’s love. How will we as a church become the proof of God’s love in 2016? The way of course that we do that is to commit more and sacrifice more to that which God calls us to. If you haven’t, please pick one up in the Gathering Area. The book outlines the six areas we should commit to for us to become the church members God is calling us to be. Soon the leadership team will have meetings to determine who will lead the different ministries of the church and to seek out the vision God has for us in 2016. Please be in prayer for these leaders and the direction our church is headed. Know that our teams will be committed to competence

and excellence in all that they do. How to give yourself fully to God and see the difference you can make in this Body of Christ. We Need Some Help!          Several members are offering donations for items we could sell at our next garage sale but we don’t have the space at the church. We are looking for the space equivalent to a one car garage or half of a two car garage to store these items. The Men’s Fellowship will move the items around but square footage is what we are looking for. If you can help, contact the office or Pastor Paul. Thanks for you help in advance.

Dear Richland Hills Christian Church,

I wish you could have been there the moment I opened your card containing the gifts from Walmart and Office Depot. I have been a teacher for 21 years and I have never received such an amazing welcome gift. Thank you!! I left Florida in June and I had not received a paycheck yet. My students here at Binion were borrowing my supplies (because they did not have any of their own) that I had brought with me,

but I needed so much more that I could not provide until my next paycheck came. Then, I opened up your card. There, it was - literally, the answer to my prayers. Now, I could go out and buy pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, magnets for the board to hold up the science and social studies definitions, folders for their data charts, prizes for the weekly raffles, and markers so they could label and decorate their folders. I also bought clip magnets for the board so that each class could place papers that they didn’t finish there so that the next day they could easily find them. Now, my students have everything they need, thanks to your extreme generosity. You have made me feel so welcome and it shows me, once again, how God answers many prayers. Thanks again.

Sincerely,Janet Decker

GROWING AND GOING!

If you go by the nursery and adjoining rooms, more improvements have been made. A new baby crib, which is in compliance with current laws, has been added. The fanciest glider rocker ever seen is now being used. Changing tables that fold up have been added to nursery and handicap bathroom. New toys are being placed in the former Pioneer classroom across from the nursery. Soon work will begin on the courtyard and it will spring to life as well.

God has blessed us with our young families and we are going to make sure we have a facility that meets the needs of these families.

The Prayer Warriors ofRichland Hills Christian Church

Starting this coming week I am starting a new ministry here at RHCC. Several people who have received the spiritual gifts inventory shared with me an interest in an opportunity where they could serve. Prayer is one of the most important things we can do as a body, so I am starting this new group for whoever is interested in joining us in this prayer team. On Sunday I will place a sign-up sheet in the Gathering Area where you will need to put your name and phone number. By the end of the next week I will organize this group as a prayer chain by phone for specific areas I would like you to pray for. Each Tuesday I will call the initial contacts and all week we will pray in the areas that God is leading us. Prayer, more than anything else, will change our church and put us in the place God wants us to be. So if you are looking for a place to serve, this may be the perfect fit.

Thanks, Pastor Paul

Why to

Read?I was not much of a reader until seminary imposed reading as a key to survival and thus my addiction started. I love to read and specifically I love to read about God. I think my hope is that if I place books out in the gathering perhaps you will pick one up and take one for a test read. I continually rotate books in the Gathering Area to provide a mix of different non-fiction and fiction materials. My goal is to get you reading about your faith in order to grow in your love and service of God. So please take a moment and look at the books and see if one of them doesn’t catch your eye.
