St. Turibius Parish is selling fleece jackets, polo shirts, t-shirts and hoodies with our new Parish Logo. Order forms and samples are in the back of church on display. Please complete an order

form and either drop it in the collection basket or return to the rectory.

What a wonderful way to show your “St. Turibius Pride” as our Parish Familycelebrates our “90th Anniversary” this year.

We are planning to replace the Church rug and have major work done on our Church organ. This fundraiser hopefully will defray some of the cost.

From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We will celebrate our Parish’s 90th Anniversary on Saturday, November 11th. Our celebration will begin with a Mass of Thanksgiving that begins at

4:00 p.m. It will continue with our Attitude of Gratitude Dinner Dance held at the Mayfield Banquet Hall.

The tickets for the Banquet are $50.00 per person. This includes drink, food and dancing. We will also have various raffles throughout the evening. I

want to invite you to participate in the Eucharist and the Dinner Dance.

This year, we are publishing an Ad Book. If you would like to take out an Ad in the book, there are a few options. There is a form on our Web Page. You

can also stop by the parish office to pick up a form.

We are also trying to contact former parishioners form our Parish. Many have moved out of the parish. If you are in contact with a

“former parishioner”, I would ask you to contact them and invite them to be part of this celebration.

I have only been your pastor for about six years. I have found the parish to have a deep faith life and a commitment to living out the gospel values. It is my hope that as we celebrate our 90th Anniversary, the Lord continues to

bless us with the grace to live out our parish mission:

W Sobotę 11 Listopada będziemy obchodzić 90-tą rocznicę naszej parafii. Nasze święto rozpoczniemy Mszą Dziękczynną, która rozpocznie się

o godzinie 16:00. Nastepnie bedziemy kontynuować nsze świętowanie podczas naszej corocznej dziękczynnej kolacji tancerskiej, która odbędzie

się w Mayfield Banquet Hall.

Bilety na bankiet są w cenie $50.00 za osobę. Cena obejmuje napoje, jedzenie i tańce. Będziemy mieć także różne loterie przez cały wieczór.

Zapraszam Was do wzięcia udziału w Eucharystii i kolacji tanecznej.

W tym roku także publikujemy książkę reklamowa. Jeśli chcecie zamieścić ogłoszenie w książce, istnieje kilka opcji. Na naszej stronie internetowej

znajduje sie formularz który można wypełnić. Możecie również zatrzymac sie w urzędzie parafialnym, aby otrzymać formularz.

Próbujemy także skontaktować się z byłymi członkami naszej parafii. Wielu z nich odeszło od naszej parafii. Jeśli macie kontakt z "byłym parafianinem",

chciałbym was poprosić abyście się z nimi zkontaktowali i zaprosili ich do udziału w tej uroczystości.

Jestem waszym proboszczem tylko przez jakieś sześć lat. Odkryłem, że ta parafia ma głębokie życie wiary a także jest zaangażowana w życie wartościami ewangelicznmi. Mam nadzieję, że obchodząc naszą 90-tą

rocznicę, Pan nadal będzie nas błogosławił swoją łaską, abyśmy mogli żyć poprzez naszą misję parafialną:

September, and we’re asking for you to keep them coming during the month of October. Canned soup is always in

demand, and it goes out as fast as it comes in. So please, during the month of October, help us with donations of the

Cardinal Cupich to deliver keynote speech at the University of Chicago

Cardinal Blase J. Cupich will deliver a keynote speech on Saturday, October 14 at 6 p.m. at the University of Chicago

(Auditorium, Law School, 1111 E. 60th Street). After the Cardinal’s keynote "A Consistent Ethic of Solidarity: Transcending Self, Transforming the World," the President of the University of

Chicago, Robert J. Zimmer, will provide introductory remarks. A reception will follow Cardinal Cupich's talk.

The Morning Rosary Group of St. Turibius Parish is extending an invitation to all parishioners to join us in the

recitation of the rosary celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Apparition of

Fatima in 1917. The rosary will be said on the October 13th at

6:00 PM in church.

On August 19, 1917, Our Lady of the Rosary asked “I want you to continue praying the Rosary every day”.

The Morning Rosary Group has been saying the rosary in church for the past 43+ years after the weekday morning

Mass. Please join us as we continue to follow Our Lady of the Rosary’s request.

If you are planning to celebrate the Quince Anos of your daughter between the dates of April 14, 2018 and February 23, 2019, you should register now to attend the preparation class and morning retreat. The class will be held on February 8, 2018 beginning at

6:30pm. The retreat is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 9:30am. You can register at the Parish Office. There is more

information on the Parish Website.

St. Turibius Parish will be teaming up with Walgreens again this year for free flu shots on Sunday,

October 8th after all masses. Please bring your insurance card or medicaid card.

Many thanks to all of you, the people of St. Turibius, for your generous donations of clothing and household items for our Bundle Weekend. On Saturday evening and Sunday morning, all of your cars were rolling up to the parking lot and unloading

bundles and boxes of useful items that will be greatly appreciated by all the people that we serve. We at the St. Vincent De Paul Society asked for your help, and you gave it,

like you always do.

A very special Thank You to Mr. Edgar Quintero, and all the members of the St. Turibius Youth Ministry, who came out to help us unload the cars and load the truck. We couldn’t

have done all this work without you, and we really appreciate your help, your smiling faces, your joyful attitudes, and your willingness to serve those in need.

Many thanks to all of our Parishioners for their generosity, their spirit of service, and their willingness to participate in the Mission of Service of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

Baptisms are offered ONLY on Sundays and once a month in English

and once a month in Spanish at 2:30pm.

Sick Calls

Please contact the rectory office (x10) to arrange for visits to the sick and homebound. The priests and our

ministers of care will make every effort to visit parishioners in the hospital, at

home, and in nursing homes.
