OCLC Governance Structure
Any library, museum or archive that embraces the OCLC values of collaboration and sharing is welcome.
Members from each region elect an Executive Committee, plus Member Delegates to OCLC Global Council.
Global Council Member Delegates elect 6 members of the Board of Trustees.
In addition to the 6 Global Council-elected members, the Board consists of the President of OCLC and nine trustees elected by the Board itself, five of whom come from fields outside librarianship.

Goal 1 : Participate in the governance of OCLC

- Approve amendments to OCLC governance regulations

Asia Pacific Regional Council represents member libraries from the territory west of Hawaii, ranging from China, Japan in the north to Australia and New Zealand in the south, and Pakistan to the west.
Geographical Area of Asia Pacific Regional Council
170 countries are members in OCLC.
50 countries are in Asia Pacific Regional Council.
˗ More than 3,200 languages in the Asia Pacific Region in 28 major linguistic families.
˗ Among these languages, Mandarin Chinese is spoken by almost 900 million people, predominantly in China.
˗ Papua New Guinea is home to over 800 languages, of which more than 350 are spoken by less than 1,000 people.

from Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand, Taiwan, New Zealand for 2013-2016 term
─ Please prepare your nominations in advance. People can also self-nominate
─ Summit your nominations by December 7, 2012
─ All OCLC member voting representatives will receive invitations to vote
─ Voting will take place from early February through early March 2013
─ Election results will be announced at the OCLC Global Council Annual Meeting on April 23-25, 2013 (tentative)
According to bylaws, to ensure geographical diversity, no more than one member of the Executive Committee may be elected from the same country or region.
