On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to the 72nd PIChE National Convention 2011 to be held at L’ Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Philippines from February 16 – 18 (Wednesday – Friday), 2011, organized by the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers, Inc. (PIChE) and hosted by the PIChE – Negros Occidental Chapter (PIChE – NOC).

The convention focuses on the vital role of Chemical Engineers in the society with its theme: Unleashing The Masked Potentials of The Filipino Chemical Engineer.

This gathering promises to provide new insights on the prospects: Chemical Engineers, Researchers, Educators, Environmentalist, and Students in the field of Entrepreneurship, Education, Environment, Emerging Technologies, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. It will be a venue for meeting old friends and making new friends, for sharing common interests, thus, making it a fruitful and memorable occasion.

As we celebrate our 72nd year, the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) cordially invites Technical Speakers to join us at the 72nd PIChE National Convention which will be held on February 16 – 18, 2011 at the L’ Fisher Hotel at Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.

The convention will feature internationally renowned plenary speakers, parallel technical sessions, interactive poster sessions and entertaining social functions. Intending authors are invited to contribute high-quality papers. All abstracts are to be submitted electronically through the conference’s website on or before November 15, 2010. Intending authors are invited to submit abstract (in MS Word format) on topics within the scope of the convention in not more than 1 page of letter 8 ½ X 11 in size paper. The abstract should state clearly the purpose of the work, methodology and significant results. A maximum of 5 key words should be included in the abstract. Abstract must be prepared on single side, single column, margins should be set to 3 cm (left), 1.75 cm (right), 2.5 cm (top and bottom), single space typewritten form and must include author’s address, affiliation, telephone, email and fax numbers. Use 16-point for the title, 10-point for the affiliation and references and 12-point for the rest of the text. Except special symbols and units, Times New Roman font is preferred. The abstract will be reviewed by the conference’s technical committee. The authors will be then required to submit a full paper once the abstract is accepted. The final acceptance will be based on the content of the full paper. All papers accepted for oral and poster presentation will be incorporated in the conference proceedings.
