While running from the Men in Black once again he quickly ducked inside a shop hoping he had evaded them.

Upon entering he notice the copious amounts of candy &

pop in the entrance.

Thinking the coast was clear, Victor made his way towards the door but someone caught his eye.

She introduced herself as Maria and Victor was right away smitten. He was happy to find out she was newly single as she

just broke up with her boyfriend!

After breaking up with her boyfriend, Maria decided it was time for a life makeover, starting with her apartment. On a

high from getting that cute boy’s number at Eidies Entertainment store, she skipped her way to the strip district

when a window display caught her eye.

Page 8: Observation

There was so much to see and everything was so inspiring. This was the perfect place to pick up things to revamp her

apartment.

She loved these ornaments but wished

this place offered classes to show her

how to make her own!

There were art displays all around the

store

Page 9: Observation

As Maria shuffled through all the fabric she heard her name being called. She wasn’t surprised to see her new friend,

Amelia in the store. She had a feeling she would run into her today.

Amelia asked her how her first day of classes went but to Maria’s surprise, she

completely forgot to go!!

While walking around after her first day of class at the

university she stumbled upon a bookstore…

It was small & quaint, giving her the impression that only the best books

were here.

Page 12: Observation

She marveled at the art that was in the store , thinking it was unique,

beautiful and sometimes scary

She though

t old phones

like this one

were extinct. But

thought it was cool how this

store used.

And the old stereo was neat

too!

Amelia looked all around and wished there was a comfortable

place to sit but was disappointed when she couldn’t

find a spot.

Page 13: Observation

Instead Amelia found her “frenemie” Jennifer.

They cautiously avoided each other, pretending they hadn’t notice that the other was there. Jennifer slipped out of the bookstore before

having to say hi.

A bit frazzled from seeing Amelia, Jennifer was glad to leave the bookstore before

having to talk to her. She had just finished band practice and was looking

for a perfect gift for her mom downtown. A boutique caught her eye.

The door was open and looked very inviting.

Page 16: Observation

Everything was unique and very crafty. She was surprised to find out that everything was homemade!

She learned that local crafters used this shop to sell their goods.

On the way out of the store, Jennifer ran into friend and fellow band mate Jared, who also happen to be

her secret crush.

Though he seemed sad and she felt sorry for him, she was pleased to find out that

he had been dumped.

Page 19: Observation

After being dumped by his girlfriend, he was in no mood to hang out with friends, even Jennifer. He somberly strolled alone and

found himself in Market Square.

Just like it’s name, restaurants & shops surround the area in a square.

Page 20: Observation

While approaching the center of the square he noticed what looked like a constellation

that would light up at night.

When he googled it on his phone he found out that it was a symbol of the North Star chosen to honor

Pittsburgh’s history in anti-slavery. The lights in the ground

are aligned as the stars would have been seen in the heavens on

June 2, 1835 at 8pm, the first recorded meeting date of the

Pittsburgh Antislavery Society.

Suddenly hungry, Jared decided to get

something to eat.

Page 21: Observation

Jared thought his luck was turning around as he spotted a very pretty girl sitting at the bar in the restaurant.

Something about her seemed out of this world.

Unfortunately for him, Vanessa thought all human boys were weird and unpleasant.

Vanessa had been waiting all day inside a restaurant called Primanti Bros. where she was suppose to meet her brother.

Finally taking note of her surroundings she noticed that there were a lot of menus around. All along the wall and several on

her table.

Page 24: Observation

When she asked the waiter what the #1 best

seller was, he responded with “beer”

She noticed that most the

sandwiches served here contained French fries &

coleslaw in them. A true trucker’s meal they said!

Page 25: Observation

Ready to leave, Vanessa was very happy to see her brother finally arrive.

Unfortunately he brought a guest.
