Observation 1 7/10/15Today I took my first observation of my apple tree . I noticed that they were a lot of spider webs with dead

flies . The bark of the apple Tree was fairly smooth, But they were still an awful lot of splits in the tree. There are a lot of apples on the tree.(the apples are

cooking apples.)I think that a little bit of moss is growing on the trunk

of the tree. The leaves are still green, but they are quite small, 8

cm squared at smallest .The apple tree is fairly tall. It is 9 years old, 10 years In

February. The trunk of the tree is quite thin

This is my second observation. Most of the leaves are green with yellow on them, thoughSome are completely yellow or brown.By the looks of it all the leaves will be yellow and brown

eventually, no reds or oranges. A few leaves are on the ground but only a few .There are still loads of spider webs on the tree. There used to be as bird feeder on the tree but the rope

that held it up snapped and the bird feeder is now stuck up in one of the branches!

I took a closer look at the bark,(I took some bark rubbings)And I noticed that some of the bumps are shaped very like

eyes!

Observation 3 21/10/15On visit three, I estimated and measured the height of the tree. I looked at the leaves and noticed that they were actually quite

green! Although a fair few were yellow or brown, most of them were

green! The moss was quite certainly now climbing up the trunk of the

tree. The spider webs had certainly stayed firm on the tree. I measure the tree with a measuring Tape. My estimate was: the main trunk; 2.5 meters, right from the top of the apple

tree; around 3.5 meters. When I measured the total was:main trunk; 1.6 meters (1 meter60 cm) and right from the top;

303 cm (3 meters 3 cm)

Observation 4 28/10/15This visit is based on mini beasts and if they live in my apple tree. As I already mentioned, (read visit 1,2 and 3.) in other

observations, there are absolutely loads of spider webs in my tree, and I suppose a lot of dead flies if they count as flies! There are a lot of mini beasts in my tree, but no bigger beasts such as birds.

I dug a whole with a used to be clean knife and fork. I was just digging and when I was done there was already a mini

beast on the spoon! I eventually managed to put the yogurt carton in the groundI checked probably every 5 mins, but I have to wait till tomorrow

to seeThe true results. I estimate that a lot of mini beats will be in the yoghurt tub.

Though worms and wood lice immediately come to my mind.

Results of Observation 4

In observation 4, I put down a mini beast trap.On 1/11/15 I observed the trap. I saw a woodlouse,An ant, a worm, and another tiny little creatureThat was on my spoon,

11

Observation 5 4/11/15On this visit I examinedd the branches of myApple tree for apples or buds or any sort of flower. For apples to grow on the tree, flowers grow first,

then the flowers die and apples come!At the moment the apple tree has nothing except

yellowleaves, and a few worms and insects. There are a lot of leaves on the ground and moss Is definitely climbing the trunk of the tree..
