How KOGNIMAT works:The alert system is invisibly integrated into the mattress. The mattress can be placed on a patient bed regardlessto its orientation 1 . As soon as an unwanted bed exit is detected by the mattress 2 a signal is transmitted tothe receiver wirelessly 3 , and the paging system sets off an alert 4 .

Anit-MRSA protection

The HOSPICLEAN mattress cover

offers the best protection against

a multitude of bacteria. A 99%

protection rate against MRSA

bacteria (Methicillin-Resistant

Staphylococcus Aureus) over a

4 year period is guaranteed. Dartex

Coatings Ltd. have released a new

product using innovative film

technology supplied by Smith &

Nephew, which enables a mattress

surface and core to be protected

against MRSA.

It has been proved that the bacteria

are destroyed upon contact with the

mattress cover (Test JIS Z2801).

Anti-fire Protection

The HOSPICLEAN mattress protection

cover is flame retardant in compliance

with the A 12951 1/2 and 12952 3/4

specifications. This means that the

mattress does not catch fire when

exposed to a small flame or a lighted

cigarette.

What is MRSA?

How Silver3 technology works

The Silver3 film permanently diffuses silver ions

throughout the thickness of the protection cover thus

ensuring that they are in sufficient quantity over the

whole surface of the material.

MRSA

The MRSA Bacteria

Moisture in the air breaks down the soluble

ceramic carriers making silver readily available on

the surface of the material. When the bacteria come

into contact with the fabric surface they interact

with the silver and are eliminated.

MRSA means danger

MRSA is resistant to antibiotics meaning that the

bacteria can be neither treated nor eliminated by

antibiotics. The bacteria can, for example, pump out

the antibiotic from the cell or produce enzymes which

can destroy or modify the antibiotic. Equally, the

bacteria can prevent the antibiotic from docking onto

the cell which consequently eliminates its beneficial

action.

Silver ions are so minute that the bacteria fail to recognize

them and so these ions manage to make their way into the

cell where they can eventually destroy the bacteria.

Hygiene

The Obatex ANTI FIRE 118 inconti -

nence protection cover protects the

mattress against humidity. It is easy to

clean, washable at up to 95 °C, can be

tumble dried and is flame retardant.

It is also impermeable to liquids but

vapour permeable. Obatex ANTI FIRE

118 meets the required standards for

classification A 12952 1-4.

Security

The 14 cm thick OBA ANTI FIRE 118

mattress core has undergone anti-fire

treatment. It meets the 5.2 standards

and has been tested by the Institute

for Security and Reinforcement of

Security.

The 2 reinforced borders guarantee

good stability and make it easier for

the patient to get up.

cantonal Bruderholz/Basel Hospital. We can provide such handles as

an option upon request.
