Attitudes help predict work behavior:

Eg: After introducing a particular policy, it is found from anattitude survey, that the workers are not too happy about it.

During the subsequent week it is found that the attendance of

the employees drops sharply from the previous standard. Here

management may conclude that a negative attitude toward new

work rules led to increased absenteeism.

Attitudes help people to adapt to their work environment :

attitudes help the employees to get adjusted to their work

According to Katz, attitudes serve four important functions

from the viewpoint of organizational behaviour. These are as

If you are mainly positive ,you will be

focused doing good things, happy

thoughts, and successful outcomes.

OtherwiseIf you are mainly negative, you will be

focusing on bad things, sad thoughts,

unsuccessful outcomes and act and

behave negatively too.

Positive attitude helps to cope more

easily with the daily affairs of life. It

brings optimism into your life , and

makes it easier to avoid worry and

negative thinking. It is a mentalattitude that expects positive results.

MATTIE STEPANEKMATTIE STEPANEK

Mattie was a young boy who became a

famous poet at the age of 10.

He was good friends with Oprah Winfrey

and Jimmy Carter.

Matties first book was titled Heartsongs.

Mattie died in 2004 at the age of 13.

This is the most emotional chapter in the

book. While he is an inspirational person,

the chapter makes many people cry.

³The disease is a curse at first sight, but  I wouldn¶t be me without it. I haven¶t

given up. I don¶t sit in the corner and

cry about my life. I thank God for life. I

make the fullest of it.´
