John Paul College, established in 1982, is Queensland’s largest independent school providing education to 2,000 Child Care, Kindergarten to Year Twelve students. Our campus covers thirty hectares of magnificent grounds and is located on Brisbane’s southern outskirts, forty minutes south of Brisbane International Airport, halfway between the CBD and the Gold Coast. Learning for life in the global community is very much a reality for John Paul College students. The College aims to provide each child with an innovative education and internationally orientated curriculum that delivers real world learning. The College is widely acclaimed for its technology programme and is a world leader in the integration of information and learning technologies into the curriculum. Facilities include a purpose-built international education building, multi-million-dollar Senior Student Centre, campus-wide wireless internet, wireless-connected classrooms, extensive sporting facilities, a modern Aquatic Centre, music centre/300 seat auditorium, science laboratories and cyber Library and cafeteria. John Paul College offers Primary and High School programmes, Study Abroad and Study Tours. John Paul International College offers a High School Preparation Course and an International Primary Preparation Course for international students to facilitate entry to John Paul College mainstream classes. Our programmes help international students to meet academic entry standards and develop study, language and cultural skills, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to their study in Australia, either at Primary School, High School or Diploma/Degree courses in Australian universities. Student services include airport pickup, orientation programmes, health and counselling services, careers service and ongoing support with language, academic and personal matters. Our unique Boarding Village is a co-educational home to forty-eight students from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities in our global village in the heart of our school. Students live in individual residential homes which accommodate eight students in twin share rooms with ensuite. Each home has a shared lounge zone. Students are placed according to gender and age. The fully air-conditioned facilities include individual kitchens in each residence, dining and recreation areas, outdoor entertainment areas and a supervised Learning Centre and Tutorial Room. The College operates its own Homestay Accommodation Programme, and International students live with carefully selected, and government approved host families, usually with children at the College. Students receive all meals and their own bedroom with study facilities.

This fee is to cover the costs of processing the initial Application. 2. It is College policy that fees are paid in advance as outlined by the National ESOS Authority. 3. Student visa holders must have health cover for the duration of their study in Australia. 4. Payment covers term time only. The Boarding facility runs during the term time only. A late fee of $50 per week is charged on

any balances owing after the first week of term. If one term’s written notice for boarding withdrawal is not given as required, the student (or parent(s)/legal guardian if the student is under 18), will be charged the following term’s boarding fee.

5. Payment covers 48 weeks’ homestay per year. The four weeks over Christmas will incur extra costs if the students are in residence. Homestay payment must be received before the first day of each term. A late fee of $50 per week is charged on any balances owing after the first week of term. A cancellation charge equal to two weeks’ accommodation fees will apply, if less than four weeks’ notice is given in writing, or if a placement has been made.

*All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars, are current at the time of printing and may be subject to change (please see our website for current fees). If the tuition fees are increased, you will be required to pay the new fees as they are updated. *Please read the College Refund Policy for Overseas Students for information about refunds. Tuition fees for the school year are charged in two (2) instalments in January and July and are payable within 14 days of billing. GST: Most of the College's fees and charges are not subject to the Goods and Services Tax [GST]. Any GST included in charges is specifically identified on the account when rendered. Students will not be permitted to commence or continue their course at the beginning of any term until all outstanding fees, charges or accounts are paid. No certificate/report will be issued where a student has an outstanding debt owing to the College.

Students Living Away From Home

For those students who are living away from their families, John Paul College offers co-educational Boarding on campus, and a Homestay Programme. Subject to availability.

Application Fee

This fee is non-refundable and covers the administration costs associated with the initial prospective application. If the date or year level of entry changes and new documents (including new CoEs) are required, a subsequent fee ($100) will apply per each new set of documents issued.

Confirmation of Enrolment

To confirm the offer of a place at the College, payment of the Enrolment Confirmation fee with the signed Written Agreement by the Parents of the student(s) for that place must be received before the student commences their study. Failure to provide this may result in a delayed start to the student’s academic study programme.

Other Charges

For the preparation and issue of verification documents, copies of reports and invitation letters there will be a charge $30 for the original set of documents. There will be an additional charge of $10 per set of subsequent documents requested by a parent.

Course Levy

The Course Levy fees cover compulsory extra charges and may include technology levy, computer software, the supply of some duplicated and electronic materials, Student ID Card. (May vary by year level) The Course Levy excludes all non-compulsory items such as specific camps/conferences, music camp, private music lesson, sporting tours and optional curricular and co-curricular activities.

General Conditions

• Tuition fees are effective for the current calendar year and will remain until they are changed by the Board of Directors.

• While the Board of Directors aims to set fees on an annual basis, it reserves the right to change these at any time.

• As specified in the agreement signed with the College, fees are payable in advance, as per invoice.

Change of Visa Status [i.e., the student becomes a temporary or permanent resident]

• When an Overseas Visa student has a change of visa status, he/she will continue to pay full overseas student fees for the duration of that Term. Evidence of the new visa status is required.

Homestay (inclusions): • Bedroom: Homestay accommodation consists of a separate bedroom containing a comfortable bed with bed linen,

wardrobe, study desk, good lighting and ventilation; • Laundry • Meals: The Homestay Provider provides three meals a day as well as some snacks and drinks.

Application Procedures

Please follow the procedures below when making an application for enrolment. Tick the box as you complete each of the following: 1. Read Prospectus and associated Policies

2. Application for Enrolment (International Visa Student) pages 6–9 in Enrolment Package (signed)

3. Medical form, signed front and back

4. Homestay Form or Boarding Form, OR provide full details of close blood relative residing in Brisbane with whom you wish your child to live. Please send: name, address, phone number, copy of passport and proof of relationship.

5. Provided Certified/notarised copies of all school results in English for the past 2 years.

6. Complete and submit the Student’s Profile and Photos

7. Provided evidence of English language proficiency (AEAS, IELTS, TOEFL) if applying for entry directly to John Paul College.

8. Provided payment of (non-refundable) application fee of $400.

9. Guidelines for Mutual Respect* explained to parents and student by the Agent. The students also needs to acknowledge and sign the Guidelines for Mutual Respect at Orientation.

A. Submit items 1- 7 to the International Admissions Manager: jpic@jpc.qld.edu.au B. Your application will be acknowledged promptly via a Provisional Offer/Written Agreement. C. To accept the offer, please sign page four of the Written Agreement and return pages three and four

along with payment as per page one (Invoice) of the Provisional Offer. D. On receipt of payment, a Confirmation of Enrolment Certificate (CoE) will be issued (student visas). E. Present your CoE to your nearest Australian Diplomatic Mission to finalise your Student Visa. F. Notify the College with the date and time of your arrival in Brisbane. G. Students can obtain a conditional Letter of Offer for up to three courses. This will enable students to

apply for a Visa for the duration of the full PACKAGE Programme.
