Overview: What is NAV? • The Nyquest Archive Viewer (NAV) is a web application that
allows for direct document indexing against Banner® data. • The application can also launch from within Banner® to allow
seamless integration. • Reduces the need for having large paper archives and increases
office productivity. Easy to Setup/Learn -‐ Easy to Integrate
• The main application shows a simple tabular view of all associated documents and attributes within an indexing folder.
• Intuitive “look and feel” allows users to understand the application with minimum end-‐user training.
• Application supports all major HTML5 compatible browsers on all major operating systems. No Java, ActiveX or other browser plugins required.
• Core technology is a REST Web Service that allows easy integration with other third-‐party components. Universal File and Document Support
• Virtually all file formats (DOCX, XLSX, MP3, MP4, PDF) supported.
• Application also supports user defined tagging of documents. • Hierarchical security allows different users to have different
access rights to file formats and tagged documents.

Real-‐time Dynamic Indexing • NAV functions by associating indexing folders to Banner®
records directly within the database. • As soon as a record is saved into Banner®, it becomes
accessible from NAV. • No modification to baseline Banner® tables and/or packages. • Direct access from Banner® INB/SSB/XE.
OCR Ready • NAV utilizes Google Tesseract® OCR technology. • Documents added to NAV can have OCR metadata extracted and
saved for later content searches. (E.g. Find all documents containing the phrase “MABUG Summit 2015”)
