Notes:

The History of Nutcase In a Nutshell:Nutcase started with a brainwave idea when Michael Morrow attended an Oregon State Beavers versus Oregon Ducks football game. Sketching out the design for a crazy helmet on a cocktail napkin, he picked up an old sport helmet, skewered some rubber ducks with industrial screws and set off to cause a stir in the stands. Early designs included the iconic much-copied watermelon helmet. Today that early, innovative design DNA is in every Nutcase helmet now sold throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina.

NUTCASE GREENLIGHTS GLOBAL LAUNCH OF GEN3 HELMET LINE

Originator of Lifestyle Sports Helmets Unveils Anticipated Third Evolution of Iconic Street Helmet Collection

INTERBIKE, SEPTEMBER 18-20, 2013 – It’s been seven years of fast track pedaling since Nutcase Helmets came up with the not-that-nutty idea of designing bike, snow and water sports helmets that people actually wanted to be seen wearing. This Spring Nutcase celebrates by launching GEN3, the much-anticipated third evolution of the brand’s iconic street helmet for bike, skate and scooter nuts.

The new GEN3 helmet combines all the tongue-in-cheek graphics, pop color and cool de-sign features of previous lines, but adds a redesigned fit, clever details and smart tweaks. An evolved shell offers a more head-hugging, contoured fit as well as improved comfort on even the warmest days with additional ventilation. Each helmet also comes with a snap-in, removable visor for year round sun and rain protection on the road; the signature Nutcase anti-pinch, magnetic buckle for easy, one-handed operation and a newly-removable spin-dial fit system for an exact, individual and comfortable fit. The GEN3 helmet also offers 360-degree reflectivity thanks to reflective straps, spin dial and logos on the front and back of every helmet.

The 2014 GEN3 line includes six new graphics - Americana, Lumberjack, Trucker Orange, Daisy Dream, Atomic Boomerang and Turtle – and two new solids - Cream and Electric Olive. Each helmet also arrives in a fully redesigned box featuring a fun, pop-out cardboard origami squirrel just because.

“Everyone has their own personal style,” jokes Michael Morrow, CEO and founder, Nutcase Helmets. “We’re here to help people demonstrate that in an easy, everyday and un-pushy way. Whether you’re commuting in a busi-ness suit, riding a half pipe or catching a little white water, there’s a Nutcase design to help you stand out and express yourself wherever and whenever.”

As part of the Global GEN3 launch, Nutcase also launches the third evolution of Little Nutty for kids. Available in one size (48cm-52cm), the Little Nutty GEN3 is made from an ABS in-jection mold shell with an Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) protective foam liner for high impact protection. Each helmet comes standard with a spin dial system for perfect fit, 360 degrees of reflectivity, a snap-in, removable visor and nine intake and exhaust vents. Available in fifteen playful graphic designs, three of which are brand new for our Spring 2014 launch - Speed Star, Turtle and Daisy Dream. Each Little Nutty has the Nutcase anti-pinch magnetic buckle for easy one-handed operation.

GEN3 adult helmets including new 2014 designs are available worldwide this spring in sizes, Small (52cm – 56cm) and Medium (56cm –60cm) and Large (60cm-64cm) for Nutcase fans and lifestyle sports nuts everywhere.

JUICY NUTCASE NEWS:WATERMELON HELMET TURNS FIVE

Nutcase Says THANKS: 25,000 Watermelon Helmets, Five Years, 25 Countries

INTERBIKE, SEPTEMBER 18-20, 2013 – Stop the presses and slam on those brakes for a second because here’s some juicy news – the classic Nutcase Watermelon helmet just got even sweeter than usual. The very first and original design to roll out of the Nutcase laboratory turns FIVE years old this month and is celebrating in style – by selling its 25,000th model worldwide.

“This is a sweet moment to savor,” says Michael Morrow, Founder and CEO, Nutcase Helmets. “The watermelon is the design that started it all but we couldn’t have done it without the thousands and thousands of Nutcase fans around the world. So before we get to work on our next fan favorite, we want to stop and say a big thank you and remind everyone that we really love their brains.”

The Nutcase Watermelon helmet was the first official Nutcase Helmet to go into produc-tion following the original prototype sketched on a napkin ten years ago and modeled by Morrow at an Oregon State versus Oregon Ducks football game. Wanting to show his true feelings for the ducks, Morrow grabbed an old football style helmet, attached some four-inch screws and skewered rubber bath ducks on top setting out for the game. Thanks to incredible and lively fan reactions to the design, the idea for fun sports helmets and the Nutcase brand was quickly born.

Other 2014 introductions will include a more comprehensive accessories line that will fuel Nutcase’s expansion into a true consumer lifestyle brand.

“Miriam and I created Nutcase with the intention of building a great company that is as inspiring to our customers as to our employ-ees, distributors, vendors and dealers throughout the world,” adds Morrow, speaking of his wife and co-founder Miriam Berman. “We are on a mission to create the most inspiring and beloved helmet and safe-ty gear brand in the world. Europe and our trusted partners are an important part of that mission.”

Nutcase’s new distribution partners begin work immediately on sales of existing product lines and the introduction of the Nutcase GEN3.
