    Subjects Covered in Different Rounds of National Sample Survey

    The NSSO, since its inception, has been conducting multi-subject integrated sample surveys in the form

    of successive rounds on countrywide basis relating to social, economic, demographic, industrial and

    agricultural statistics. NSS surveys are generally of one-year duration. The wide variety of subjects

    covered from first round of NSS till date can be categorized into two major groups: surveys undertakensince the reorganization of NSS as NSSO in 1972 and the surveys undertaken prior to NSS 27th round

    (1972-73).
