NPPD Board Strategic Goal
◦NPPD will evaluate all forms of renewable resources feasible in Nebraska and incorporate them in the total mix of NPPD-owned generation and contract purchases, with a goal of achieving 10% of our energy supply for NPPD’s native load from renewable resources by 2020.

Target of adding 80 MW of wind-powered generation in 2010
Assuming the extension of Federal Production Tax Credits, lowest cost option is PPA
November 2008 - Plan to issue RFP
Spring 2009 - Proposals due
Fall 2009 – PPA Complete

Numerous project developers have acquired land and transmission interconnection queue positions
RFP will identify two NPPD sites
◦Transmission studies manageable
◦NPPD can select either or both sites
Will allow proposals that utilize land that is under NPPD or private control at these two sites
