Federal Health Minister Visit You may have seen WIN TV on Friday evening where it was reported that the Federal Health Minister, Sussan Ley, visited our school. This was a very exciting time for a small group of leaders and Stage 2 students who got to speak with the minister about what we have been doing in the federally funded Sporting Schools Program. Also visiting the school was a group of people from Diabetes Australia who were here to support the Health Minister’s launch of the new Mastering Diabetes school program. Federal member for Gilmore, Ann Sudmalis was also here supporting our students and Ms Ley. Click on our Facebook or website to see some great photos and video of the occasion. Wellbeing Hub Attached with this newsletter is information about the establishment of a Wellbeing Hub to support our school community. I encourage as many parents and carers as possible to attend the free BBQ on Thursday 12 May at 1.30 to have your say about what should be included in the hub. Paperless Newsletter - REMINDER
Many parents and carers have started using Skool Bag, Facebook and the website to access information and news from the school. As a result from the beginning of Term 3, 18 July 2016, paper copies of the school newsletter will no longer be distributed home with students. However, should any parent or carer not have access to the internet or other electronic forms of communication, an application for a paper copy can be made through the school’s front office.
Financial Commitments
Parents and carers are encouraged to start making part payments for these events now, particularly for those who have students in Years 5 and 6 as they have a number of expensive activities scheduled in Term 4. Any amount at any time can be made at the office as part payment for any major school event. Please note, students who have not paid for any event by the due date will not be able to attend.

‘WELLBEING HUB’
We have a new exciting project proposal for Nowra East Public School and we
need YOUR input and contribution!
The ‘Wellbeing Hub’ aims to provide easy access to services and organisations
exclusively for the students and families of Nowra East Public School. You will
have no need to travel or miss out on school, when you can come in and access
services in our ‘Hub’.
In order to better support our community, we need to hear about what services
you would like to see and use at NEPS. Your feedback is VITAL to the
development of this project as we want to ensure that the services best
support our students and community.
On Thursday 12 May between 1:30pm and 3:00pm, we
will be having a FREE BBQ LUNCH in the community
garden. This will be your chance to talk about the
services that you would like to see coming to NEPS
and have your say in the development of this exciting
new project. If you have any questions or wish to submit your suggestions
early, please don’t hesitate to contact the school via phone or Facebook
website.
We look forward to working with our community and hearing your feedback.
