News from Miss Paton Dear Parents/Carers Thank you to those who gave up some of their weekend to join us for the beach clean on Sunday November 3 rd . We learnt a lot about plastic pollution and found an interesting range if items. As you know reading is a big focus for us this year and staff have been working hard to develop the reading areas all around the school. A huge thank you to Miss Carpenter for sourcing some fantastic new furniture for the library which now boasts a lovely leather sofa which is perfect for relaxing with a book! We will be having parent consultations during the weeks of November 25 th and December 2 nd . Appointment sheets will be available from Monday 18th. Please speak to the class teacher if you have any difficulty with the available appointments. Last Friday we enjoyed a celebration to officially open the Foundation Stage Unit. It was an opportunity to thank the many people who helped with the building work and creation of the FSU and new mezzanine classroom. There is a great piece in The Holsworthy Post. Thanks to FOBs for serving the refreshments. Miss Gibbons is coming to the end of her maternity leave and will be returning to school on December 2nd. We would like to wish Miss Harper lots of luck for the future but hope to welcome her back for some supply teaching. I hope you have found a few minutes to complete the online parent questionnaire. If you need the link emailed again just speak to Stacey in the office.

It seems winter has well and truly arrived and snow has been falling in Devon this week. I therefore need to be prepared for the procedures should staff be unable to travel. In the event of school closure there will notifications on the websites for Bridgerule School, Devon County Council plus announcements on local radio stations (Heart and BBC Radio Devon).

Finally, thank you for your support for Children in Need today, the children looked great in their spots and stripes and much fun was had at the ‘Bridgerule’s Got Talent’ Show. Well done to all! Lisa Paton
