2007 HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY & SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER BEST EVER! Due to the generous support of industry businesses and individuals, SME Tucson Section was able to award 5 Fall Scholarships to University of Arizona students in Mining and Related fields of study. This is 2 more than fall of 2006. This would not have been possible without YOU! Contributions this year totaled near $25,000! This is $7,000 above last year! tee off this year again, this annual tournament fund-raiser is a tradition for the U of A SME Student Chapter. The proceeds go di-rectly to the students who would like to attend the 2008 SME National Con-vention in Salt Lake City
Utah, the 2008 Student /Alumni Drilling Competition, and the 2008 Intercollegiate Mining Competition held this year in Rolla, Missouri. These events are a great opportuni-ties for the students to learn about the indus-try and meet its leaders.

PHOTO CONTEST! WHO IS WHO??? We had a great turn out at the 2007 SME Halloween Costume Party / Scholarship Fundraiser. It was fun seeing everyone in the groove with their costumes! Just in case you weren’t able to make it, or even if you did, we took a lot of pictures to share! NOW… here’s the deal, WE know who everyone in these pictures are, but DO YOU??? This is the EASIEST PHOTO CONTEST EVER! All you have to do is number a page 1 through 20, include your first and last names and a contact telephone number and / or email. For each of the pictures, do your best to identify ALL parties (major parties) in the picture. If you weren’t at the function, some could be just about impossible, but other may be pretty easy! Deadline is December 1st at 5:00 PM!
