Mondays, November 13,20, 27 and December 4 at 10:30 About Nancy: As the Aging Service Coordinator for the Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee for the last

14 years, Nancy directs the Alzheimer’s/dementia education programs, provides information and referrals for the

aging population and leads a support group for caregivers dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Just The

Facts is designed for family members and friends learning to live with the joys and challenges of caregiving. This

workshop is not open to professional caregivers. Reservations required.

Walking Path Monday through Friday Thank you to the generosity of First Farmer’s Bank we enjoy the beauty of our backyard with installed “Stairway to

the Little Harpeth at Martin”. You can venture outside and walk at your own pace and on your own time. Enjoy a

mostly paved and flat pathway from our backdoor along the path to the recreation center.

Martin Center Certified Therapy Dog By definition: Therapy dogs provide affection and comfor t to individuals in hospitals, nursing homes, and

other facilities. Sassie, an Australia Cattle Dog, is now registered with the United State Dog Registry as a certi-

fied Therapy Dog. When visiting the Martin Center she will be sporting a therapy dog vest so visitors will be

able to identify her.

Mere Bulles Holiday Lunch Private room setting

In June of 2000, Mere Bulles moved a few miles south of downtown Nashville to Maryland Manor, a

historic plantation-style farmhouse and former estate home in Brentwood. The Mansion itself was built in

1942 with bricks salvaged from a previous historic building that was torn down near the present site, thus

giving Maryland Manor it’s authentic Old South appearance. The Maryland Farms business district and

neighborhood where the current location thrives derive its name from the once grand 400 acre estate. The

mansion will be decorated beautifully for the holidays. Our group will dine exclusively in the Martha Room.

Cost: $22.50 includes lunch, gratuity, transportation and CDL license driver. Reservations required.

A landmark in Leiper’s Fork, Green’s Grocery will host our Martin Center holiday party. This is a unique and

exclusive opportunity to travel to the beautiful countryside of Leiper’s Fork and enjoy fellowship and friendship.

We will travel in comfort and sip a little bubbly along the way.

Entertainment will feature vocalist Jennifer Cihi with a five piece band promising a night of music, fun and good

cheer. Your feet will be tapping and dancing along to a wide variety of music starting with traditional standards to

Landscaping Committee: Help keep our landscape looking beautiful by weeding, watering, planting and picking up trash.

Property Committee: Identify needs and help with general maintenance and repair of the Center.

Kitchen Keepers: Organize the kitchen for special events and potlucks including set-up, heating the food and clean-up.

Newsletter Group: Fold, label and sort the Center’s newsletter.

Data Entry: Input membership and volunteer data.

Welcoming Committee: Introduce new participants at social and special events. Organize the Center’s New Member Luncheon.

Phone Calling: Make occasional phone calls as reminders or follow-ups.

Decorating Committee: Decorate for activities or special events at the Center.

Membership Committee: Promote membership and encourage members to be active participants and recruit new members.

Potluck Luncheon Martin members: $2. Guests: $5.

Entrée provided but everyone must bring a LARGE dish to share.

Topic: Navy Aviation Rotarian Dale Lewelling will give a presentation on US naval aviation, specifically flight operations on a US aircraft

carrier. Dale will share his own experiences as a career navy pilot as well as information, photos, and videos he's

collected over the years. Please bring photos of you or your loved ones in the military to celebrate this day.

a cynical war widow. The little boy is adorable, the holiday scenes are a great and the message is

enlightening
