Veterans Prayer Veterans Prayer Veterans Prayer Veterans Prayer God we thank you for commissioning men and women inthe defense of freedom. We honor those who honor andprotect us, in many cases laying down their lives that wemight live free to pursue our own destiny. Every soldier takes their oath knowing they may be called upon to paythe ultimate sacrifice. Lord, we cannot repay this gift they

give us. For those who have suffered as a result of their sacrifice, we ask for supernatural healing, favor, peace, and in some cases, forgetfulness. Lift from them the caresand burdens of violence. When they return home, givethem opportunities to fulfill their own potentials anddreams. Open doors for them, even when some doors areclosed. God, Bless our veterans. We pray this in Jesus.

There are three ways to help: prepare food (we provide recipes),serve the food at the shelters (only requires about 3 hours, usuallyhome between 8:30 & 9:00 PM), stay overnight until 6:30 am (safeatmosphere with private sleeping quarters). We have the most diffi-

culty finding overnight volunteers, but it is really easy duty. We breakthe night up into watches, and since guests sleep between 9 PM and5:30 am, there is plenty of quiet time to catch up on reading, paper-work, etc. The more volunteers we have, the more sleep we get!

Eileen (Helena) Nelson will once again be coordinating the volun-teers. Thanks Eileen!
