Here we are, coming to another end of the year. Man, what FUN we at Chapter TN-N has had with all the
meeting, rides, events and just getting together for FUN. Now it is November and here comes all the eating and
spending time with family for the Holidays. There is going to be a lot of eating between now and the New Year.
So, pace yourself and don’t overdo it and leave room for the ICE CREAM!
Still have some good days for riding, but be careful! Remember, Leaves are falling and are all over the
roads, they can be very slippery if wet. Also, this is the hunting season and the hunters are in the woods, causing the deer and turkeys to run wild. They could run out in front of you. I know, for I am one of those
hunters, along with some of the other members.
We still have the Christmas Party to look forward to, it is Dec.1st at the Old Country Store at 5:00pm We
will also be doing a Group Picture and Couples Pictures for the upcoming year. Playing Dirty Santa and the
Chapter is paying for everyone’s meal, just a treat for you. I hope to see everyone there, cause we are going to
have some FUN!
The Polar Bear Run is Jan 1st and will be at the Old Country Store, we will meet between 11:00am and
11:30am for our very first ride of the year. Anyone that would like to join us, may do so. Also in January, the
TN. District Winter Event is the 26th in Cookeville TN. This is one you don’t want to miss, BEST FUN YOU WILL
EVER HAVE!! Then the next day is the TN. District Leadership Instructors Class in the same place, go figure,
what can I say but, You GO District Staff!
OCP was very good and informative, had FUN as usual and spent time with friends from across Tennessee.
Always love getting together with Winger from the State. Have some new Instructors and this is awesome. We
also have a new Chapter Educator in our Chapter, Shannon Seaton. Thanks Shannon for stepping up for this position. After the OCP class, we traveled to Columbia TN, to visit Chapter Z, whom was having their monthly
meeting. We just made a full day of it. Had a wonder time with Mitchell and his members.
18-19 members rode down to Eldon’s & Sandy’s Camp site at the Tennessee River. Had a chili cook off, I
don’t know who won, I was late getting there, but I got some of the Chili and it was good. Sat around the camp
fire and we had an awesome time. Some went home about 8:00pm, but some of us stayed all night. We
brought our campers/RV’s and just made a night of it. Talking about a GREAT TIME, I really enjoy being with
the Chapter members and spending more time than just an hour at a time. This was some very good fellowship
and everyone had a BLAST. Already talking about doing this again.
Well that’s enough from me for the time being, I hope everyone across the State has a very Blessed Thanks-
giving and Merry Christmas. I hope and pray that all will prosper and stay healthy for years to come. For all of
you are our Family and Friends, May God Bless each and every one of you!
Until then,
Ride Safe, Ride Often, Have Fun

Hello everybody, I hope this finds all of you well. I was glad to see all of you at the last meeting, had a great
time, and really enjoyed meeting the new members and all of the visitors. Of course, I think everybody enjoyed the
great reception that Jeff Douglas gave everybody. Let’s keep up the good work and see if we can get a few more
members.
Our next meeting will be our Christmas Dinner at the Old Country Store. Going to have some fine food, a great
time, and a lot of fun. Bring a gift and get ready to play dirty Santa. The weather has been fair, but I find it harder to ride when it is colder now. My bones can’t get used to it, but I
try to ride anytime that I can.
On November the 17th, we had a Saturday ride. We all met at the river in Perryville at our camp ground. Boy
did we have a super time. It was a perfect day—warm during the day and cool at night. We had a Chili contest
with 5 people that entered. All of the chili was great, but Reggie and Kim came away with the first place prize of a
bottle of Tums, and the winner for eating the most was me, and I won a bottle of Gas X. It sure came in handy.
There were five couples that spent the night—Reggie and Kim Seymour, Oliver and Gattie Welch and Teo,
Tony Douglas, Eldon and Debbie Seaton and Nolan, Sandy and Will Hayes, and a special guest, Danny Seaton.
We built a big camp fire and sat around and talked and roasted marshmallows until about midnight. We all got up
Sunday morning and ate breakfast and everybody hugged and shook hands and went on their merry ways. What a
great way to spend time with friends.
I hope everyone can come to the Winter Fest; it is going to be a great experience, a lot of fun for us all. Got my
reservation made, come and join us.
Well that’s about all I can say for now, other than . . . . .
Ride A Lot, Be Safe, Have Fun
Really early in the morning at the river.

Our Motto...
"Safety is for Life"
Our Mission...
" To Save Lives Through Quality, World Class Education"
Good news—we have everyone in the chapter signed up at the level one which is the commitment to be safe.
Some of us are at other levels. Soon we will be reporting our activity levels and the percent of the membership at
each level. This is just another way to show our commitment to the “knowledge and safety” statements of our
mottos. We are going to hit the ground running—we have already made plans for future training sessions.
Thanks to Jim and Mary Cobb from Chapter G for sitting with us to develop the draft agenda. Exact dates will be
announced soon.
From the pages of our District Educators—Gary and Patti Hamilton: While at the OPS Meeting I was asked if one could go from Master Tour Rider Level IV to Life Grand Master if
they had the 15 years as a Level IV. I was unsure and when I got home I e-mailed our Region Educator Kyle Craig
and asked that question. The answer is that you must go through each step individually meeting the required
time and staying current in your requirements. So you go from Senior Master, to Grand Master to Life Grand
Master. Five years at each level. I cannot remember who asked that question but hope you read this answer.
We are working on the Rider Education Calendar for 2013. It is our goal to provide training throughout the
District bringing the classes as close to the members as possible. We have already set an Education Day with
Chapter N in Jackson the second weekend in February. We will have seminars, and offer Medic First Aid and
CPR training for those members who need it. Thanks to Jim and Mary Cobb for setting up this training with
Chapter N and thanks to Chapter N for hosting the training.

The holidays are rapidly upon us and we find ourselves being thankful and in the spirit of giving. Kimberly
and I find ourselves being thankful for a lot of things. As we have been out and about, we already see Christmas
decorations around us. Although Christmas is our favorite holiday, we don’t want to forget to give thanks for all
of God’s many blessings.
We can truly say we are thankful for family and friends. We all have our own families but being part of the
GWRRA family, especially the TN GWRRA family has been amazing for us. We have truly been blessed the last 3
years by your presence. It truly feels like family when we are all together and we truly miss you when we are
apart.
We are also thankful for our health and our strength. We are thankful for God allowing us to see another safe
year as we traveled state to state on our Goldwing. We are grateful that God brought us back home in the same
physical condition that we left; although, mentally we were all changed by the wonderful natural sights our eyes
beheld. We have had a few of our family members that had accidents and thankful that God allowed them to see another day. We also had family and friends that didn’t make it but we still thank God for the memories we will
always have of them. So with so many things to be thankful for, it puts us in the Christmas spirit to give.
Just a little recap of our Operations meetings in November, we would first like to thank everyone who was able to attend. We shared a lot of valuable information during the opening session, as well as in the breakout ses-
sions. We talked out the honor of selecting a Couple of the Year for your chapter, rules and regulations on how to
obtain the different plaques, the importance of completing/submitting ARL’s in a timely fashion, and the chapter
newsletter contest. We are really looking forward to a great 2013.
Last but not least, we have appointed chapter MEC’s for TN-W2 and TN-Z. Please join us in welcoming Cathi
&Clint Hancock (TN-W2) and Jerlene and James Smitherson (TN-Z). We are expecting great things from them so
please embrace them in their new roll.
Until Winterfest, which you know will be a blast…Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a very happy
New Year!

This has been an OUTSTANDING month of FUN!! Our monthly gatherings continue to fill our meeting room
to capacity. November 3 we had special quests from the W2 Chapter which included Ivan and Leesa Coburn,
Chapter Directors and Glenda Keough, our West TN Assistant District Director. Educators Jim and Mary Cobb
from Chapter G were present and so was our District Couple of the Year, Boyd and Diane Hixson. Jack Hixon
(and his wife) joined GWRRA and came to our monthly gathering and a total of 26 of our membership was in at-
tendance, including our newest members, Wes and Marlyn Youman. On November 10, Tony, Eldon, Nolan and I made our way across the newly opened 840 to Murfreesboro to
attend the District OPS training. Thanks to Reginald and Kim, District Membership Enhancement, for all the
great tips for making the meetings more fun and for the training information to help us do our jobs better for
GWRRA members. We made the decision that while we were this close to Columbia, we would make our way to
their monthly gathering. Good food and great fun with members of Chapter Z.
One of our most fun dinner rides was on November 17th. Twenty members and two guests attended the fun
and fellowship dinner ride and camp out. Six members stayed over and shared a great breakfast the next morn-
ing. Thank to all who made this another successful fun gathering. Rumor has it that a fish fry at the same spot
is in order. Stay tuned for further announcements. Congratulations to all the participants of the first annual
chili cook-off and People’s Choice Award. All the chili was very good. Reginald and Kim’s chili took the People’s
Choice Award. The best part of the evening was the gathering around the campfire. We roasted hot dogs to go
with the chili and later roasted marshmallows and made s’mores. If you were not there, you missed a lot of FUN!!
I had hoped to bring out the 2013 calendar and do our planning for the coming year, but it was evident that we
were having too much fun to add work to the agenda. Now let’s get ready for the annual Christmas gathering dinner and then on to the Winter Fest. Look out here
comes Chapter N!

As I sit down to write something for the November News Letter all I can think of is the Chili Cook Off and
Camp Out. Sure the Presidential election, the OPS training and our regular November meeting were important
but all pale in comparison to the night at the Seaton/Hayes river camp.
On the far East side of Decatur County near the Tennessee River is a quiet and tranquil camp ground. All
the lots back up to Beech River just before it runs into the Tennessee River. Vibrant fall colors welcome visitors
as they arrive to enjoy this relaxed and peaceful outdoors. As you visualize this serene spot, please note: this
is the description before “CHAPTER N” arrived. After campers, RVs and several cars filled the area, laughter
could be heard all the way to the Tennessee River. As usual when this bunch gets together the stillness is no
more and the earth shakes with the sounds of LAUGHTER.
Eldon built a big fire and we moved his fence so more people could get around it. ( I hope someone put it
back Sunday morning) When Kim and Reginald arrived with their chili we were ready for the taste testing. Eve-
ryone had the opportunity to taste all the different chili and vote for their favorite. The winner of the 2012 1st Annual Chili Cook Off is (drum roll please) Reginald Seymour . We ate chili with all the trimmings, roasted hot-
dogs and made s'mores . Since Reginald won, he had the honor of passing out the TUMS. Eldon ate the most so
he was awarded a box of Extra Strength GAS-X . After everyone had finished eating, we again circled the fire.
Someone started telling funny and embarrassing stories about each other. The laughter echoed across the water
and this time could be heard all the way to Parsons.
Eldon-Debbie and Sandy-Will, Chapter N thanks you for sharing you River Camp. We hope that our singing
about a YELLOW SOLO CUP doesn’t get you all thrown out. We know that it should be red solo cup, but when
did Chapter N ever do anything by the book?
Janet has a future in dance!
The sun went down, the air got cold but the fire
warmed the body and the stories warmed the soul.
I don’t see any red or yellow solo cups!!

Bikers and Veterans
I just finished reading the book "No Easy Day" written by one of the members of Seal Team 6, that bravely dis-
patched Osama Bin Laden or as the Seals referred to him, UBL. Why am I mentioning this in an article about motorcycles, you ask? Because it reminds me of a recent ride our home chapter, FL1-A Tampa, took to
the Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Chapter A has an annual ride to this hospital so our participants, some of them veterans themselves, can pay
tribute to and honor our physically and emotionally injured veterans. We park and clean our bikes and trikes
and then the nurses bring the vets down to admire them. We provide hats, food, dessert, music and company.
We are told by Tina Prince, the head nurse, that many of these heroes don't leave the confines of their rooms for
months at a time but will come down and mingle with us.
While we were there, a local Harley club did a drive around for the vets. There must have been 40 bikes patri-
otically adorned that rode by honoring these broken warriors. We were all happy to see them and applauded as
they rode by.
Motorcycle organizations and clubs throughout this great country of ours, including the Gold Wing Road Rid-
ers Association, have been conducting rides to benefit our veterans for many years. It is my belief that we can't
do enough for them when they return home after serving our country, so that all of us can continue to enjoy our
freedom. The charity rides we all do for our veterans, disadvantaged children and adults, and our communities, are enormously satisfying to us all.
One such ride is the POW/MIA Recognition Ride which was held August 18 this year. This is an annual ride
that starts at Woodland Park High School in Woodland Park, Colorado. The ride travels Rt. 24
from Woodland Park to Cripple Creek, Colorado. The origin of the ride can be traced to Jim Wear who, along with
14 other "chopper" riders, rode into Colorado Springs in 1988 as a sign of patriotism. Since then the ride has
evolved into thousands of bikers riding to honor our POW/MIA veterans who sacrificed so much, including their
lives, for our country.
How proud we, in G.W.R.R.A., are to be a part of an organization that does its best to give back to those who
give so much.

As most may know, I underwent some extensive surgery and post surgery complications in the early summer of this year. We now find ourselves in the position of having to step back for a year or so, for health reasons, while some additional medical treatment is administered. Our resignation as Region N Directors will therefore be effective on December 31, 2012.

News From District
The end of the year is upon us and I am really looking forward to the holidays. I love Thanksgiving because
we get to spend family time and I love to eat turkey, no surprise there! I am a sucker for leftover sandwiches.
Then we have Christmas and all the surprised looks on the faces of the grandkids. There is nothing better than
that, but then it is time for our New Year to begin and we have lots of surprises in store for our GWRRA family.
We just finished with the OPS meeting and I am really pleased it went so well. We had a shortened agenda due to
schedule conflicts, but were able to get all the information to the officers that they needed. This time of year is filled with our required paperwork and we ask that you continue to work through your Assistant District Direc-
tors to get this accomplished.
Our Winter Event “The Great American Train Robbery” on January 26, 2013 will be upon us before we know
it. Get your costumes ready and join us for a fun filled weekend in Cookeville. Don’t forget Spring Fling, “Winging
Around Choo-Choo Town”, April 25-27 in East Ridge, TN. We have a lot of fun and activities planned for you so
go ahead and register early to be eligible for the early bird special. Registration information can be found later in
this newsletter and on the District Website.
So as each of you attend your Holiday functions with your family and your GWRRA friends, the District Team
wish y’all the best. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas,

Family of Jokes—HA HA!!
One day, an old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar
stool and orders some coffee. After sitting there for a while, he yells to the waiter, 'Hey, you wanna hear a
blonde joke?'
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says,
'Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five
things:
1= The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2= The bouncer is a blonde girl.
3= I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
4 =The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weightlifter.
5 =The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
'Now, think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke?'
The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head, and mutters, 'No, not if I'm gonna have to ex-
plain it five times.'

Two guys were roaring down the road on a motorcycle when the driver slowed up and pulled over. His
leather jacket had a broken zipper, and he told his friend, "I can't drive anymore with the air hitting me in
the chest like that." "Just put the jacket on backwards." His friend advised. They continued down the road
but around the next bend, they lost control and wiped out. A nearby farmer came upon the accident and ran
to call the police. They asked him, "Are they showing any signs of life?" "Well," the farmer explained, "the
driver was, until I turned his head around the right way!"

Bill Clinton is getting off a helicopter just in front of the White House. 10,000 people are standing outside
welcoming the return of Bill from abroad.
Bill has two pigs, one under each arm.
A man in the crowd catches his attention and says, "Nice pigs
sir."
Bill smiles and says, "These aren't pigs. These are Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Hilary and one for Chelsea."
The man replies, "Nice trade Sir."
Family Notes!
Just a little note from Debbie.
I wanted to thank everyone that came to the Saturday ride. We had a great time and a lot of fun, we played
Corn Toss, sat and talked, ate some great chili, and had a wonderful time sitting around the camp fire. I
hope we do this again very soon. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Christmas dinner.
