5 AND 6 SEPTEMBER 2013UNIVERSITY OF SURREY, GUILDFORD, UNITED KINGDOM

Page 2: Novartis Flyer Spirochaete Conference 2013

Introduction The International Conference on Colonic Spirochaetes in Animals and Humans 2013 is a unique opportunity for scientists and PhD students working in the field of spirochaetal infections to meet, exchange information and broaden their knowledge base in relation to these important pathogens.

It is also the leading forum designed to explore novel control strategies to improve animal and human healthcare in relation to spirochaetal infections.

This conference is normally held every 2 years and is generally over-subscribed because there are only 100 delegate places available. In 2013 this is especially true because the last conference was held in Leon in June 2009. As a consequence of the predicted demand, all those interested are encouraged to enrol at the earliest opportunity (see below).

Dates and Venue The conference will take place on: 5 and 6 September 2013

The conference venue is: University of Surrey, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7XH

T: +44 (0)1483 300800 F: +44 (0)1483 300803 www.surrey.ac.uk

The Conference will utilize the University of Surrey’s excellent conferencing facilities and accommodation will be provided on campus for maximum convenience. Surrounded by carefully designed gardens, vibrant green playing fields and a picturesque lake, the campus grounds provide an ideal place to study, relax and socialise right in the heart of Guildford, the County of Surrey’s main market town.

The University of Surrey is located in Guildford, south-west of London, and has excellent travel links to London, the London Airports, and the rest of the UK.

Each session will be introduced by a 30 minute Keynote speech delivered by a guest speaker. There will also be accompanying oral presentations of 10 minutes selected from submitted abstracts after which, participants will be afforded the opportunity to present posters related to the individual session themes - 5 minutes will be allowed for each poster talk.

Each session will be completed with a round table discussion, chaired by the Keynote speaker.
