Whether it be a single, red rose in a room full of classic antiques oshabby chic room filled with an explosion of flowers; flora plays a

part in decorating.

Experts say real flowers are the only way to go, but I disagree.

Admittedly, a vase of fresh flowers from my garden makes me a

happy camper. There’s always a downside though…they eventua

die.

Silk flowers are beautiful forever. They’re inexpensive and can b

recycled as necessary. They can be used as a magnificent

centerpiece on your dining room table or as a supporting cast

member in your mantle décor. The options are literally endless.

We have master floral artists at both Norwood and Nostalgia who

have arranged their displays perfectly. Stop by soon to see if we

Norwood Antique Mall is located in the up-and-coming Norwood neighborhood of Marietta on the corner of Greene Street and Cole

Drive. We are conveniently located within minutes of I-77. Normal hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday 10:30-5:00, and

Sunday 12-4. Parking is plentiful and we are handicapped accessible.

Nostalgia is located in downtown Parkersburg. It is ideally placed at 810 Market Street. Closely adjacent to the Juliann Histor

District, it is conveniently accessible from all directions. Normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10:00-5:30, Saturd

10: 00-5:00 & Sunday 12:00-4:30. On street parking is available and we are also handicapped accessible.

Sometimes change is necessary. We’ve all been there…a bit

of reorganization, an opportunity to spread our wings, or to

simply make some changes for the better.

At Norwood, we have several changes to announce.

1. Our hours of business are now Tuesday thru

Saturday 10:30-5:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 4:00.

2. We will no longer be offering layaway as an option

for purchasing items.

3. Beginning 06/01/2013 our fee for consignments will

be 35%.

4. We will have a few days in the near future when we

will not be open for business due to construction

(beautification) to our building. We’ll send you an

email before this happens. We just wanted you to

be aware now.

At Nostalgia, we have a couple of updates too.

1. We’ve expanded our hours. We are now open

Monday - Friday 10:00-5:30, Saturday 10: 00-5:00

and Sunday 12:00-4:30.

2. And, finally, keep an eye on our Facebook page for

the possibility of craft classes in the near future!To clean vintage metal signs and

advertising, use a degreasing

dishwashing liquid in warm water.

Tough stains may be removed with a soft sponge or a soft brush. The toughest

stains may need a gentle hand and a

microfiber sponge. Be gentle though.

Don’t scratch the surface of the metal.

If you see rust spots, apply a small

amount of rust remover to a damp cloth;

rub easy. Be sure to rinse away all

traces of any chemicals.

Dry each piece with a soft towel and let

it stand to be sure no moisture remains.

fact that its advertising. People who collect this genre

usually stick with one avenue. Whether it is automotive

tobacco, fashion or household items, these collectors are

avid about their collections.

Ephemera, metal and porcelain signs all fall into the mo

sought after pieces with tobacco and automotive being t

most widely collected types nationwide. Finally, black

memorabilia is one that is highly sought after regardlessthe original intent of the advertisement. It will be scoop

up by a collector in any venue.

The month of May is generally the time of

year when we honor and pay homage to

those who have passed on before us. Most

of us will visit their resting place and

decorate with flowers. I, too, will do this

but, I’ve also made it a practice to honor

my loved ones by displaying their

heirloom pieces that I had packed away for

safe keeping.

We’re all guilty of “saving it for later”.

What exactly is “later”? When will “later”

be? Will it be when we have guests over

for dinner? Or when Aunt Sue plans to

stop by? Or never? I say, later is now.

What better time to honor your ancestors

than today?

Dig that china out of the basement, find

Grandma’s handiwork , grab the silver

candlesticks and use them all. Display

them proudly and without worry. The

only regret you should have is that you

haven’t done this sooner.
