2018 to celebrate Northwest Daze, so put on your smiles and "Bee Our Guest."

The hive will be buzzing with tours, activities and much more. Please plan to join us for a "Get Acquainted

Social", included with your registration. Dress for the weekend is casual.

Saturday morning starts off with many buzzing over to Lakeview Golf Course for our 4th

Annual Golf

Tournament, bring a team and join the fun or let us put you on a team. For those not into Golf we have lots of

other activities for you or join our Membership Committee on Hole 1 and stay for Lunch, BBQ chicken

quarters. See attached Golf Tournament forms.

Get together with other Ladies in your Temple and create a cookie jar for our Silent Auction. Help us support

the “Best Philanthropy in the World” by bidding on the many Honey Jars (aka cookie jars).

We will be having a raffle for a gorgeous Stained Glass and a fantastic “Queen Bee” Quilt, check out the

pictures on the order form.

We will have vendors offering bargains that you will find irresistible.

All attendees will receive a program book in their goody bag at registration. If you wish to honor your Temple,

any of its members, or if you wish to advertise a business, please place an ad in the program book. We would

appreciate your support.

Please make your room reservations directly with one of the two host hotels or RV park and abide by the

deadline to take advantage of the special Daughters of the Nile rate.

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

SHUTTLE SERVICE We will have Vans available for shuttle service by our Shriner’s, from the Safari and Riverside

Hotels and to the different venues we are using. Call Pr. Carolyn Patrick at 208-739-6049

and she will arrange transportation for you by car or van.

PARKING Parking is very limited at the Shrine Center, if you have a handicap sticker you can park on the

street all day, no fee. If you are staying at the Safari or Riverside call and we will come pick

you up or if you are able it is a nice walk and not too far from the Safari.

You cannot park in the Shrine Parking Lot without a permit till after 5 pm.

TOURS

Yanke Motor Museum--Shuttle available from Shrine Center leaves at 9:30 AM

Trip Advisor Review--Huge warehouse divided and filled with vintage automobiles, motorcycles, fire engines,

pickups & trucks, Police Paddy Wagon and old ambulances ranging around early 1900's to the 1970's. There is

a stagecoach in mint condition from the Boise to Silver City line. There is a Basque Sheepherder wagon and an

irrigation wagon used for watering fields. Mrs. Yanke collected vintage clothing, sewing machines and

washing machines. Also set-up were school desks for the 1930-40's with vintage books and an antique baby

grand piano. There is a separate room with vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles and scooters, WWII combat

motorcycles and 1960 era choppers.

Basque Museum--Shuttle available from Shrine Center leaves at 9:00 AM

The museum is small but very well-curated, with wonderful informational exhibits about the Basque history

and experience. It is right in the Basque Block - so after touring the exhibits - shop at the Basque market or hit

one of the restaurants. (Bar Gernika or Leku Ona)

Trip Advisor Review-- The exhibits seem fresh, cover the people as well as the heritage, and have a flow that

builds as you view the photographs, maps and historic items. The boarding house provides a glimpse into how

the Basque sheepherders spent their winters in town, enjoying conversation with others and embracing their

heritage.

Boise Township Tours--picked up at Shrine Center—9:30 AM or 1:00 PM

Wow, Boise Township tours is a great way to get to know the city of Boise. This 2 ½ hour fun, fact filled, tour

of Boise is conducted by a tour guide who obviously loves her job and her city. The tour is extremely well

organized and smoothly interweaves Boise’s historical past with the modern day city. Included is the Capital,

Old Penitentiary, Old Fort, Depot and main parks. The trolley is enclosed, has air conditioning, and has a

wheelchair lift to provide easy access for all.

Boise Saturday Market--2 different ones in same local area-Downtown--on your own

Great variety of food, art, handmade clothes and gift items. The vendors have samples of their goodies. Capital

City Market takes up several blocks along Eighth Street, heading south from the Idaho Statehouse. Just a few

steps from the State Capital on 9th street is a great market. They close several blocks of downtown and it’s

filled with stalls. This is not so much a farmer’s market with produce as it is one with local goods, crafts and

foods. It also passes by Freak Alley (an alleyway with really cool graffiti art) so take a slight detour while

walking to check that out too.

Beer Brew Cruise--picked up at Shrine Center—11:30 AM

Trip Advisor Review--What a unique and fun way to spend a day exploring the breweries in the Boise area with

friends! Rich was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the breweries and seemed to have great all-

around knowledge of different varieties of beer, which was very helpful!! We were able to keep the beer we

bought chilled and he also had bottles of water available. We went to County Line, Barbarian and Mad Swede,

and at each brewery we got a behind-the-scenes tour, heard the fascinating story of how it was started and was

served a flight of tasty brews! (Limited to 14 people)

Lunch is NOT included, but at the first brewery you can buy a meal with your beer.

ACTIVITIES

Fusions Glass Studio – Shuttle available from Shrine Center

A Kiln formed (fused) Glass teaching studio and gallery. We offer beginning to advanced classes as well as

fun, no experience required, walk-in and guided projects. These will be fired and delivered to El Korah on Sat.

Boise Art—within walking distance of Shrine Center—Transportation available

Glass blowing is the art of taking molten glass and shaping it into beautiful and functional creations. You will

go home with an ornament that you have blown and selected the colors for. Will be delivered on Sat. late

afternoon to El Korah for pick up. (Limited to 6 people per session)

Enameling is the ancient art of fusing glass to metal. Using heat of around 1,500 degrees, the powdered glass

melts and fuses to a metal surface giving the metal brilliant colors, textures and designs. You will take this with

you out the door. (Limited to 12 people per session)

Paint & Munch

You will take home an 11 x 14 picture that you paint with acrylics. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be

provided. Four different paintings offered: we will paint a Mountain Scene, American Flag, Water Scene and

Snowman, choose which you want on your order form. Check the times to avoid conflicts. (Limited to 40

people per session)

All Classes are subject to Cancellation due to lack of registered members.

This year’s event will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian, Idaho

Registration begins at 6:30 AM, with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM

The cost for this event is $80 per player or $300 per team. This price includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch, and various awards.

There will be an awards presentation, and a luncheon directly after golf.
