On arrival we enjoy a Katherine River Gorge Cruise. Known by the aboriginal name Nitmiluk, a cruise through Katherine Gorge is an amazing experience. The Gorge is one of the most spectacular areas in the country, winding 12 km with walls more than 70m high. Late aſternoon we we set up camp. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day 5 - 24 September This morning we head further South and arrive mid morning at Mataranka we enjoy a lovely dip in the thermal pools. Feel every muscle in your body relax as you slip into the warm waters of Mataranka thermal pools. The water flows from Rainbow Springs to this idyllic spot surrounded by tropical rainforest. We then continue south arriving at Banka Banka Station late aſternoon. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day 1 - 20 September This morning all students fly to Darwin arriving from 12pm to 1pm. You are met by your crew and we enjoy a City Sights Tour including the Old Admiralty House, Parliament House, Old Police Station Darwin Museum and the Overland Telegraph Memorial. We are then transported to our accommodation. Your EQI Tour Supervisors and Safari Crew will now go through the tour rules and expectations of your adventure tour. Our crew will give a set up and dismantle demonstration of your tent. Watch carefully as you will be doing this during your adventure tour! We now head East Point Reserve to watch the sunset and return to camp for your evening meal. Meals: Dinner Day 2 - 21 September Remember to pack your swim suit today! We head to Litchfield National Park, passing through the town of Batchelor and viewing some of the best termite mounds in the Northern Territory. We arrive early aſternoon and will be visiting Tolmer and Florence Falls first before relaxing at Wangi Falls and swimming in the pristine waters. We head to camp late aſternoon, set up tents and enjoy dinner. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Scenic flights over Uluru are available at own expense (approx. $150pp). If you want to do a scenic helicopter flight over Uluru you need an email from your parents giving you permission to participate in the flight. Print the email with your parent permission and give to the Safari Driver on the 1st day of the tour. NOTE you are NOT guaranteed a scenic flight - numbers may be limited due to time constraints and/or flights may be cancelled due to weather conditions. Day 3 - 22 September Today we head out of Litchfield and stop on the Arnhem Highway to enjoy a cruise on the river. Be prepared to sit well back and marvel at the huge saltwater crocodiles that will leap high to take food from the tour guides. These salties can grow 7 metres in length. We continue on and arrive early aſternoon into Kakadu National Park. We explore Ubirr Rock and then visit Nourlangie Rock to view some the most well preserved Aboriginal rock paintings then head to camp. Title Safari Day 4 - 23 September

Day 5 - 24 September
This morning we head further South and arrive mid morning at Mataranka we enjoy a lovely dip in the thermal pools. Day 10 - 29 September
Early rise this morning to visit Uluru (climbing of Uluru is not permitted). We respect the cultural beliefs of the indigenous people that this is a sacred site. We enjoy a guided base walk around the rock, you see sacred caves and learn about the ceremonies and religion of the indigenous people. Time now to visit the Cultural Centre and learn about the history of the local tribes, dreamtime and sacred ceremonies before we head to camp for lunch. This afternoon we visit Kata Tjuta some say this is more impressive than Uluru, you decide! This evening we head to Sunset Strip. Make sure your phone/camera is charged, we enjoy snacks while watching the many colours of Uluru as the sun sets on this magnificent monolith.

This morning it is time to say goodbye to all your friends and return to your Australian families. We hope you enjoyed your adventure tour with Terra Australis.

Day 6 - 25 September
Today we pass through Renner Springs and the Three Way Junction and see more aboriginal lore at the Eggs of the Rainbow Serpent (The Devil’s Marbles). We arrive late afternoon into Alice Springs and head to the campground. This evening we enjoy a visit from the Reptile Centre, see Bearded Dragons, frill neck lizards and large pythons up close and personal. You will have the opportunity to have your photo taken with large snakes wrapped around your neck.

Day 7 - 26 September
This morning we enjoy a sight seeing tour of Alice Springs, we head to Anzac Hill and see the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, we visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service before going into the city centre for lunch (own expense) and perhaps purchase some local artwork. This afternoon we explore some of the MacDonnell Ranges including Simpsons Gap. Return to camp for dinner early evening.

Day 8 - 27 September
This morning we visit the School of the Air, discover how students are educated when living in remote areas. Then we say farewell to Alice Springs and head South. We arrive early afternoon at Kings Creek Station to set up camp. Tonight we enjoy marshmellows around the campfire (fire bans permitting) before placing our sleeping bags on tarpaulin and sleeping underneath the stars provided the weather is clear.

Day 9 - 28 September
Early rise this morning, we pack up before heading off to explore Kings Canyon. The sheer walls of the Canyon rise up 270 metres, making it the deepest gorge in Central Australia. All students MUST have 2lt of water to do the walk. If you have reasonable fitness you can walk to the rim of the Canyon, which offers spectacular views over the ‘Lost City’ and ‘Garden of Eden’. Or you can walk the base of the Canyon and look up at the spectacular cliff faces.
After this exhilarating walk we enjoy breakfast before continuing on to Yulara, arriving mid afternoon. On arrival - students who have booked the scenic helicopter ride will be taken to the airfield. The remainder of the group can relax at camp, swim in the pool or take a short scenic walk to see Uluru from a distance.
