Country led capital infusion geared to enable domestic policies, are not always partnerships that yield control. The vision of the future for Africa could associate with industry entrepreneurship and wealth. In fact

Industry based trade relations often better reflect the immediate need for citizen beneficiary practices to educe economic prosperity and mitigate disenfranchisement. The power gained from relevant experiences can best be expressed from the hearts of those who are already in the struggle. The US Minority Business Market is quoted to be the fastest growing of all US Segments. (2012 US Dept. of Commerce Director) Growing at lightning speed is the US Minority Owned Technology Industry.

The National Minority Technology Council represents a strategy that includes, supports, and promotes minority technology companies across the US. With a database of over 9,000 Registered Minority Technology Companies representing over $20 Billion in annual sales, and expressed support from both Federal and State agency executives, we are now

positioned to expand our international presence. Please review our web resources and consider participating in our national dialog about the growth and expansion of the Minority Technology Industry.

Our Council Strategy provides for a comprehensive approach to addressing the economic paradox of growth and disparity. The Minority Technology Industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the US. The US Census data shows there are over 65,000 minority technology companies employing over 500,000 people in the US and abroad. We are a powerhouse of innovation with capabilities spanning every sector of the technology industry.

We have proven methodologies and employ some of the brightest minds in the world. The Council strategy at its core is designed to expose the thousands of businesses involved in solving today’s technology problems. As a body of entrepreneurs we know there is strength in numbers, and plan to leverage our growth and challenges to better serve our customers and employees. Our members are ready to do business bringing a tremendous force of talent, able to solve the technology challenges of today and tomorrow.

I welcome your review of our NMTC Tech-Africa Initiative and hope you will join us to build the case for continued and improved growth of the “African Middle Class”. The economic barriers between technology and economic prosperity must be lifted as we lift the hopes of our loved ones. Each one of us responsible and each aware of God’s hand in our affairs.

Imagine The National Minority Technology Council has embarked on an ambitious initiative to be engaged in developing active conduits for US Technology Transfer with Sub-Saharan African countries and Diaspora communities. Our primary interest is to develop Public-Private Technology Infrastructure partnerships that promote and expand the unique opportunities forged from the growing US interest in Africa

The economic opportunities are only bound by our imagination and our ability to form profitable stakeholder partnerships that are bound by the interest in community building and African Black Empowerment. Our members are sensitive to the needs of the disenfranchised and the possibility of change and partnership equity is an attractive proposition as a basis for agreement. Over the past decade the Council has developed a systematic approach to certify capabilities and evaluate national economic development issues from a critical thinking perspective. Our approach to the NMTC Tech-Africa Initiative is framed by our native desire to serve and create a system of empowered enlightenment that comes from a relevant understanding and application of 21st Century technology skills and resources. This paper will serve to begin the by-country awareness campaign to illuminate how Universal Broadband and innovative network capabilities can and will bring a new legion of opportunities and funding to participating African countries.

Active Sub-Saharan Undersea Cable

Systems already in place.

Undersea fiber optic cable systems serve as the backbone to connect countries to the power of the Internet. The Council’s plan is to enhance the billions invested to connect Africa to the U.S. by deploying the latest switching technology while advocating true economic prosperity by bridging the digital divide. The Council will bring a host of partners and best practices to create an “ecosystem” that brings capabilities powered by the internet like cloud technology, distance learning, call center, and telemedicine. Our focus is on outcome-based activities that allow for partnerships. It is not enough just to lay fiber and hope for the best. There needs to be active consulting and community building to empower government, industry and citizen participation and investment.
