How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

We had used a greater diversity of choice in the research of our media production. We had the advantage of multimedia experience such as the internet. We were able to research similar artists and genres using search engines such as Google and Yahoo. We also streamed videos from YouTube so that we could analyse them. Globalisation was key as we could look at archives of previous international magazine adverts. The benefit was that it was cheaper and less time consuming rather than having to go out and find published magazines and also watching television awaiting music videos

We used scanners to upload music adverts to analyse. Once uploaded, I used Word document to annotate it presentably.

Planning varied with multi media experiences as we had used word document to set out the groups timetables and when we all have our free lessons together. We planned out locations using the computer as we were able to upload pictures from our camera and sort out best suited locations. The pictures were then put into a slideshow using PowerPoint. We used the internet to keep up to date with public transport updates to plan which days will be convenient and easy to travel to and how to get there.

We used email to get in contact with the artist to gain permission to rights of the song.

We also scanned our sketches of ideas for our digi pack and advert which allowed us to constantly update it as the project progressed.

For the evaluation we had used handicams to record our audience feedback. We uploaded and edited it onto the Mac computers where we also burned it to DVD. For our own individual responses we recorded it on the Mac’s webcams so we directly uploaded it.

We also used the internet. YouTube specifically as we had uploaded our final product which allowed YouTube users to post their feedback on our video. It was convenient as we also gained coverage of minority interest.

Another gain from this multimedia experience was that of our blog as a whole. We were able to consistently update and evaluate each aspect of the project
