At Nidecker, we recognize the importance of environmental sustainability and have taken extraordinary steps across our entire product line to use materials and apply processes that will reduce our impact on the envi-ronment. As part of this program, we insist that our materials be ecologically certified and every process we implement must meet or exceed sustainable norms. All of our materials and processes have been carefully selected with one eye toward quality and the other toward our impact on the world around us.

While these efforts have added cost to the process of building boards, the Nidecker family feels very strongly that these costs not be passed on to the consumer, and our prices have not risen as a result of these initiatives. We will continue to pursue excellence in snowboard manufacturing, developing new technologies and fine-tuning our products, but we don’t believe we must do this at the expense of the environment.Nidecker has long been an industry leader in developing eco-friendly materials, products, and processes. In-deed, some of our sustainable processes have been in place almost since our inception – over 125 years ago! We believe a sustainable future is within reach and will work ceaselessly toward that end. Our long-term goal is to produce the finest snowboards in the world, while reducing our overall carbon footprint to zero.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE STEPS WE HAVE TAKEN TO KEEP OUR WORLD GREEN:

- We use the heat from our snowboard presses to heat the factory through a closed-circuit radiant heating system in the floor.- We recycle our unused cores and other remnants, but most particularly, we reuse our scrap base material. This not only eliminates one of the largest portions of manufacturing waste created by making snowboards, but it allows us to avoid using harmful petrochemical inks and solvents.- Our waxing process uses a 100% biodegradable formula.- All of our internal processes meet or exceed sustainable norms.- We use die cut bases almost exclusively and design base patterns with inverse - color variations, meaning a much more efficient use of materials.- Our packaging is minimalist and 100% recyclable.- We favor materials produced locally, close to our factory, to reduce transportation requirements and minimize our carbon footprint.- Our materials are virtually all ecologically certified. For example, most of our cores are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which means that they come from forests responsibly managed to meet the changing social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.- We support Protect Our Winters (POW), Jeremy Jones’ environmental non-profit, the purpose of which is to unite the winter sports community in a common goal of reducing climate change’s effects on our sport and local mountain communities.

Freestyle - Jib Easily When the board is flexed down, the matrix forces the edges to rise, thus making it easier for the board to slide on rails or boxes without catching an edge.

Swiss Core is a new technology from Nidecker that will change the way snowboarders not only ride, but how they look at their snowboards. Requi-ring an extraordinarily high level of precision in the manufacturing process, we consider this new technology similar to the “Swiss Movement” found in many of today’s finest Swiss watches. What it simply means is that we took a complex matrix of fibers and engineered them in such a way that the board reacts differently when flexed in different directions, thus improving performance no matter what your style of riding. When the board is flexed down, the matrix forces the edges to rise, thus making it easier for the board to slide on rails or boxes without catching an edge. When the board is flexed up, such as when making turns, the matrix forces the edges to press down, which allows for superior hold during those turns. What this boils down to is a full on, high-stoke revolution that is going to improve your overall ride, no matter what your style of riding

This is the freestyle core of choice for our pro lineup. We added more ash in the nose and tail, and found the perfect combination of woods to give you more pop than any other snowboard offered today. The poplar and beech marriage is also a very lively and responsive core for all around riding.

Following the 2005 invention of UG, the industry’s first trac-tion enhancer, Nidecker, always wanting to stay on the cutting edge, took the next step and developed the re-volutionary ULTIMATE TRACTION (UT). With UT, Nidecker’s engineers have taken serrated edges to another level. By strategically positioning five bumps along the board’s effective edges instead of using a more conventional ser-ration, we have created enhanced reactivity in all condi-tions. Die-cut is a base-assem-bly process in which we cut out different shapes of base material, and then pièce them together to create bright, appealing base designs.

Our 9000 is not only the fastest base available to-day, it is also eco-friendly. Produced with carbon na-noparticles, it has a very dense molecular struc-ture, making it our most durable base material.

Diamond-structured stone grin-ding is the best possible base finish. The grinding occurs on two axes to maximize glide, and to optimize the durability of the base.

Our Shock Absorber is a specially de-signed elastomeric interlayer, which offers additional comfort to the rider, while eliminating vibrations.

Our edges have 35% more steel than typical edges, which means that they have two and a half times the impact resistance of other edges offered on the markettoday.

In this patented technology, the nose and tail of the board are specially molded in a very thin composite ma-terial that is layered with a proprietary elastomeric covering. This cancels out vibrations and helps provide a unique light feel in transitions, due to its reduced thickness. Free Flex 2.0 has one of the lowest swing weights in the industry, meaning less chatter for you.

By reducing the wood and fiberglass in the nose and tail, and by reinfor-cing them with lighter, yet stronger, materials such as carbon fiber and Kevlar, Free Flex technology allows us to lighten up the board significantly while increasing strength, durability, and pop. FiberOur standard 90-degree biaxial fiberglass is the most versatile in the industry. It is bombproof, and reliable for all terrain types.

The optimal mix of vibration-dampening and reactivity, the Multi is made with pride in Swit-zerland. This light triaxial glass, exclusive to Ni-decker, incorporates a multi-layered, multi-axis fiberglass that is stitched together, resulting in a straight fiber laminate.

Vibra-Kevlar delivers a comfortable ride, reducing vibration and chatter under your feet. It gives you the confidence to go bigger and faster, no matter what the mountain throws at you.

This fiberglass, produced especially for Nidecker, allows more effective edge-response and ove-rall control. We added a bi-directional carbon fabric to allow for more finely tuned responsi-veness. This is the best fiber composite in snow-boarding today.

Strategic carbon fiber placement in our boards allows for better response, and increased pop and stiffness. This is ideal for more aggressive ri-ding, and gives you a damper ride in all condi-tions.

Believe it or not, linseed fiber and basalt are the per-fect match! During our search for environmentally-friendly materials, we discovered that this combina-tion is stronger than standard multi-axial fiberglass and also allows for a damper, more responsive ride.

The twin-tip shape was designed with freesty-lers in mind. The nose and tail have exactly the same dimensions and the stance is centered, so the board performs equally well, regardless of your orientation. Built to allow riders to jib, spin, stomp, and butter, it gives you not just the pop you need, but the pop you want. Regular or switch, it doesn’t matter, it’s all the same.

A purely directional board is best for all-moun-tain freeriding. The nose is longer and wider than the tail, giving you plenty of control in any terrain, and the stance is set back to help you float above the pow. Plus, we stiffened the tail to help snap you out of turns and keep your speed up.

This is a hybrid shape, combining the Twin-Tip and the Directional shapes. It will give you the float and control of a Directional shape, but with a twin “feel” that helps you perform better switch. The stiffness is Twin, but the inserts have a small setback like the Directional.
