In the last 12 months, the market has changed significantly – driven (in part) by our Superfast Broadband deployments.

•  4 million+ premises already passed with FTTC (March 2011)

Ø > 400 exchanges live Ø  > 10,000 cabinets live

•  On track for 10 million premises passed in 2012 (FTTC & FTTP).

•  Openreach’s products (GEA) have been accepted as “fit for purpose” by industry.

•  > 500 customers and 12 ISPs trialling FTTP in Milton Keynes and North London

•  Full FTTP launch scheduled for this year •  DETI* deployment in Northern Ireland

completes in May 2011. Cornwall deployment is well underway.

FTTC: Fibre to the Cabinet; FTTP: Fibre to the Premises GEA: Generic Ethernet Access ISP: Internet Service Provider * DETI: Department of Enterprise, Trade and Industry

We have delivered at scale, reaching 4M+ premises passed (March 2011)

We are deploying at an ambitious pace: •  Twice as fast as Korea Telecom •  40% faster than Deutsche Telecom •  Equivalent to a whole “Singapore” of

deployed footprint every quarter

Public private partnerships – realising the shared vision

•  A small rural community of around 1,300 residents served by 4 cabinets in the village

•  Was not deemed to be economic to roll out super-fast broadband to all residents

•  Openreach’s talks with Parish Council led to gap funding

•  Public sector intervention has provided all residents with access to up to 40Mbps broadband

•  Open platform for all service providers ensures customer choice

•  All cabinets now live •  Iwade’s Broadband Committee

encouraged take-up and led local marketing initiatives

Iwade, Kent
