Our seniors planned games and acvies that maxim- ised pleasure and parcipaon. Thanks to everyone for geng into the spirit of this pop- ular event. Principal for a Day report—Corbin F On Monday 19 of October I was Principal for a Day. When I got to school I went to class because I forgot I was Principal for a Day. So Ms Hay came in and got me ready for the day. When I was ready I went out to the oval for All Sports Day and waited for the Preps. There were 4 groups of Preps. I was supporng people and helping the footy relay group. Across the day we had the Preps, Juniors, Middles and Seniors. I was outside almost the whole day, holding the siren on my shoulder for when they had to change groups. At the end of the day I had to write this report. Next Principal for a Day is . . . Planning for 2021 continued Teachers will shortly begin the task of planning grades for 2021. This is a complex pro-cess and staff spend considera-ble time planning for highly successful groups within quite limited options. If you believe there are factors that need to be considered in supporting the learning of your child, please put these thoughts in writing and send to Amanda Hay, marked ‘confidential’ by Monday, October 26. Please do not request teachers as this is an entirely independ-ent process. Covid Safe precautions Final reminders regarding safe and health practices at our school:

Students with surnames beginning A-K are to arrive at 8:50am and depart at 3:20pm.

Students with surnames beginning L-Z are to arrive at 9am and depart at 3:30pm.

If your child is arriving late or being picked up early, please sign the children in and out through the school reception area.

Parent meetings will be conducted via phone or webex.

Students will ‘boomerang’ all rubbish back home via their lunchboxes.

If students are unwell they should stay at home. This is to ensure that we all keep safe at this time.

Unwelcome activity at our school Last weekend there was unwelcome and damaging activity in our school yard. Visitors broke into a storage shed, damaged equipment, over-turned dumpsters, broke playground structures and littered the yard with illicit materials and broken glass. The activity has been reported to the police who visited and collected evidence. If you happen to see any unwelcome activity in our school yard over the weekend, please do not hesitate to contact the police on 000 immediately.

Police patrols will include our school grounds more frequent-ly. Private security patrols have also been increased overnight and during weekends. Grounds Report Weeds in the school gardens We have not been able to conduct our popular working bees this year due to COVID restriction. And our garden beds tell this story. Many of our families come to use the grounds each weekend. Next time you are visiting consider bringing a bucket and gar-dening fork on your visits. We would love visitors to dig out and take away a bucket of weeds. This will help keep our school looking fabulous! Named Brick Facings The named brick facings have arrived and we would love to install them before the end of the year. We are looking or a small team to attach these to our brick wall. 4 people with their own caulking guns will ensure we comply with COVID safe practices. If you have the time and the necessary equipment, please contact our school office to register. TIME:8:30am DATE: Saturday, November 14 LOCATION: Outdoor classroom BELEZA Uniforms VIP discount period Nov 2—Dec 17, 2020. Mobile Phones at School Do you bring a mobile phone to school? Please remember that our mobile phone policy states all phones must be handed in at the office at the start of the day and collected before going home. This requirement complies with Department of Education policy protecting the safety and wellbeing of our students. Help us to keep everyone safe by following our common sense requirements.
