FAST Adventure Society of Peshawar Campus arranged a three-day recreational trip to Lahore from December 9 to 11, 2011 for final year students of Batch-08 under the supervision of two faculty members, Lecturer Aslam Khan and Lab Engineer Fawad. Purpose of the trip was to provide an opportunity to the graduating students to visit places having historical value.

They left for Lahore on the morning of 9th November. Boarding and lodging arrangements for them were made at FAST-NU Lahore Campus. During their stay, they visited historical places including Badshahi Mosque, Mazar e Iqbal, Minar e Pakistan, Shahi Fort, Waagha Border, Pace and Liberty, Anarkali Food Street and Mizar of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.

Android Workshop Conducted by FAST Computing Society

A 5-day training and development marathon in Android, called as Android AppJam was conducted by FAST Computing Society from January 10-14, 2012. The purpose of the Android AppJam was to provide a platform for all those enthusiasts who want to build their own android apps. During the workshop, all the necessary skills required for Android development were taught. The students were encouraged to discuss ideas about application designing in Android. More than 25 students attended the training and development workshop.

The organizers of the Android AppJam were Muhammad Anas, Ibraheem Tasneem, Ammad Tahir and Z u n a i r A l a m . Tr a i n i n g a n d Deve lopmen t workshop was conducted by Saad Khalid and Aadil Farooq. The mentors of FAST Computing Society, Dr. Uzair Khan and Dr. Waseem Shahzad, appreciated the enthusiasm of students and stressed upon organizing more workshops in near future, to further build interest of students towards this field.
