    thNovember 6 , 2017.The virtual stock trading competition had its Grand Finale and closing ceremony on Wednesday November 8 th , 2017 tha t comprised the presentations from top ten teams providing a glance of their journeys throughout the competition and elaborated their used trading mantras and approaches.Around 120 students from various institutes participated in the competition including Sargodhian Spirits Trust Public School, Foundation Public School, HIAST and Isra University Hyderabad and others.The top ten qualified teams based on their net worth and trading tactics comprehensively explained their applied strategies and tools in their presentations which were then evaluated by panel of judges including Mr. Abdul Latif Memon, Mr. Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi and Mr. Arsalan Shaikh.     World Hepatitis Day

    through oral fecal route while serum hepatitis includes B, C, D and F. These types of hepatitis spread via blood route either through syringes, STDs, and other sharp contaminated instruments or through blood transfusions, unsafe injections and surgical and dental instruments. Hepatitis B has vaccine which is freely available in public sector facilities and hospitals. There is a provincial control program CM initiative for Hepatitis free Sindh. But due to lack of awareness most of the people in sector doesn't get vaccinated.

    th thThe first activity was carried out on 27 to 28 July, 2017. A world hepatitis day was celebrated under the theme as well as Awareness walk and float demonstration was held. Briefing on Hepatitis to staff and students of third year was given by Dr Amanullah Jhatyal, Senior Monitoring Officer of the program. In the camp, a large number of staff, students and community of vicinity were provided vaccinations and were screened. Camp was inaugurated by Dr A G Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor Isra University. Participants of the walk were Professor H B Kolachi, Chairperson Department of Community Medicine, Professor Mumtaz Qureshi, Dr Salman Qazi, Dr Sajjad Qazi, Professor Fida Hussain Shaikh and all faculty members of Department of Community Medicine along with students and staff members. Large number of people registered, including staff, students and community members were screened and vaccinated on first day of the camp. The screening and vaccination was performed by Mr. Hiazbullah Noonari. Mr.

    Ghulam Murtaza, Mr. Akhter Ali Talpur, Mr. Talha Rafique ,Mr. Muhammad Saddique, Staff Ms. Saima, Staff Aslam, Dlip Kumar worked in the camp. Camp was managed by Mr. Haseeb. Mr. Kashif from Department of O&M helped in the arrangements of the camp.The awareness and screening covered 434 people and reached to more than 3000 people including campus staff, students and patients. This camp was held after the gap of 10 years in Isra premises.Second Hepatitis camp was organized by Isra University Hospital, Department of Community Medicine, with collaboration of CM initiative for prevention and control of Hepatitis Program Sindh on 25th and 26th August 2017, inaugurated by Dr Sajjad Qazi, Deputy Administrator of Isra University Hospital. 434 registered people were given 2nd dose of vaccination and research Performa from the positive hepatitis B and C were filled to discuss their treatment modalities from CM initiative for hepatitis Sindh.Third Hepatitis camp was started by Isra University Hospital, Department of Community Medicine, Isra University with collaboration of CM initiative for prevention and control of Hepatitis Program Sindh from 27th September to 7th October 2017

    to administer the third dose of Hepatitis B vaccine. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Salman Kazi (Vice Dean), Dr Sajjad Qazi (Deputy Administrator of Isra University Hospital) and Professor Hussain Bux Kolachi (Chairperson Department of community Medicine). The Venue of the Camp was Vaccination Room in Main OPD. All those who received Second dose of vaccine contacted staff members Saima Staff Nurse, Hisbullah Noonari, Mr. Aslam Lab Technician in the campMr. Haseeb of OM department coordinated the camp.The faculty of the Department of Community Medicine monitored and facilitated the camps, including; Prof Hussain Bux Kolachi, Dr. Ghulam Hussain Baloch, Dr. Ambreen Sahito, Dr. Tariq Feroz Memon, Dr. Munir Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Syed Wadood Shah and Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Khaskheli. The Vaccines were provided free of cost through Dr. Ammanullah Jhatyal focal person, Chief Minister Initiative for Hepatitis Prevention and Control Health Department, Government of Sindh.All screened positive cases by kit method were confirmed by PCR method free of charge and treatment of positive cases be started as per hepatitis program guidelines without delay.

    “Disability only becomes a tragedy when society fails to provide ththe things needed to lead one's daily life”. On 5 December 2017,

    faculty of Isra Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Isra University Karachi Campus Celebrated World Disability Day visiting Edhi Village.The faculty met with hundreds of “differently able” children living

    at Edhi Village. These children lack in basic life necessities as well as they were not in a very good condition. Their health status and hygienic conditions were also in great compromise. The faculty mingled with these children, and conducted several activities to please them like face painting, bubble blowing and others.

    The visit was concluded by the vice principal by presenting a speech upon disability, how to empower people facing it and how should they work for the rights and dignity of these special children, in front of their management. The faculty then distributed gift bags which were filled with food, juices and toys.When barriers are broken down and people with disabilities are

    empowered to participate in society, and are provided with basic life necessities the entire community benefits. Disability inclusion is therefore necessary to achieve development and progress for all.The theme of this year's World Disability Day was “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all”.

    On December 16th, 2017 Saturday, Department of Radiology at Isra Universality hospital in collaboration with LUMHS and NIMRA (Jamshoro) successfully conducted one-day symposium on “Radiological Diagnosis of Urinary Tract”, at Asadullah Kazi Auditorium Isra University, Hyderabad.The session was convened by Dr. Almas Memon Associate Prof and Head of Radiology Dept, Isra University Hyderabad, attended by 150 participants which included faculty members, specialists and postgraduate students from Isra University, LUMHS and NIMRA hosted by Miss Iqra Naeem and Dr. Umul Baneen post graduate students of DMRD. The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by National anthem and a welcome address by Dr. Almas Memon.Symposium consisted of two session, the first started with presentations by Dr. Almas Memon (HOD of Radiology Department Isra University) on “Role of Radiological Diagnosis on Common Congenital Anomalies of Renal system” followed by presentations of Dr. Aneela Sheeba (HOD of Radiology Department LUMHs), Dr. Shaid (Director of Nimra), Dr. Ghazala Shehzad, Dr. Rafique Memon and Dr. Fakhurnisa.Concluding the 1st session, Dr. Almas Memon presented cultural souvenir to dignified Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Ghani Kazi chief guest of the event and other guests including Dr. Jan

The session had Dr. Saiq Hussain Nohario as its last speaker who gave a talk on Radio nuclei scanning, interesting cases of urinary tract diseases. The session came to an end with certificate distribution ceremony by Prof Dr. Hussain Laghari, Chairman Surgery Department IUH and a vote of thanks extended by Dr. Rafique Memon Assistant Prof: of Radiology.

    th thOn 4 & 5 of December 2017, Isra University participated in “AEME conference in SMBB Medical University on Curriculum Innovations for better Health Care” at Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (SMBB) Medical University, Larkana. Team comprising of Prof Dr. Salman Kazi, Prof Dr. Navaid Kazi, Prof Dr. Ghulam Hussain Kolachi and Dr. Kabeer Dheerwani along with foreign delegates from UK, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia participated in the conference. Dr. Ganet Grant of WME (MEDICAL EDUCATION) UK was the key speaker. Dr. LubnaBaig and Dr. Arshad Baig along with Dr. Ganet Grant were also the chief speakers in the conference.More than 800 registered delegates attended the conference including six preconference workshops held by the experts that were also attended by the team of Isra University. How to deliver effective lectures; paper presented by Prof Dr.

    Kolachi in the scientific session on the learning trends at a private medical university. The session was chaired by Dr. Haleem Shaikh and Dr. Aftab Soomro while, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Saeed Qureshi was the chief guest in the cultural program. Prof Omar Ali Khan and Syeda Kausar focused on curriculum improvements for a better health care.Such conferences in interior Sindh will undoubtedly provide greater access to understand curriculum and research culture, relevant and contextual to the community & society. The host to next conference of AEME would be Isra University, on December, 2018 as announced by Dr. Navaid Kazi. The effort of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Ghulam Asghar Channa and his faculty made greater effort for the success of this conference. Cooperation of Isra University was highly appreciated.

    One Day Tour to Hi-Speed Motorcycle FactoryOne day study tour was planned and organized by Career Development Center (CDC) working under ORIC in affiliation with Department of Management Sciences (DMS) to Hi-Speed Motorcycle Factory, Hyderabad on 27th November, 2017. The aim of this study tour was to visit the manufacturing plant and

    acquire knowledge about supply chain process and techniques of production and operations. The contributors and participators were ORIC representatives, Isra Career Society members, Faculty members and students of Department of Management Sciences. Focal Person: Mr. Ebbad Qureshi

    Development using PHP &Code Igniter framework, Net based projects and various electrical engineering projects targeting event management, business management, education and accessibility areas. Projects were highly acknowledged by internal and external assessors.

    thOn 29 November 2017, Department of Computer Science (Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology) conducted Final Year Project Presentations where external assessors from academic and industry fraternity were invited to observe and evaluate the student's projects.     With an increasing pace of technology, a two day workshop was held on HEC National Digital Library and information Literacy

    thInstruction Skills for information on 29 of December 2017 at Isra University, Hyderabad with the collaboration of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan with an aim to aware the people about new emerging trends. The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr.

    Hameedullah Kazi, inaugurated the workshop and focused upon the change and evolvement of library's role and information sciences professionals and the relevant and subsequent needs of the community. The resource persons of this workshop were Dr. Kanwal Ameen,

    Chairperson Department of Information Management, and University of Punjab Lahore & Dr. Midrarullah Librarian (NUST) They emphasized that the Information literacy works as a tool to find, evaluate, understand and use the information that is most needed and filter the ones that are least important. This set of skills and knowledge helps us to steer the present and future landscape of

    information.The workshop was tabulated by Librarians Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Lakho and Mr. Shuhabuddin Qureshi and Over 60 librarian & information professionals participated in the workshop from across Pakistan.

    The Annual Sports Gala 2017 was organized from 08 August 2017 to 23 August 2017 at Isra University, Hyderabad Campus. Students enthusiastically participated in this two week annual activity, as this mega event has now become a regular feature of Student Affairs Activity Calendar.

    st ndThe 1 week was for Female student's matches while the 2 week was for Male students. The event was a huge success as students across all the faculties participated in the Gala. The games were held at University Sports Ground, and Female Play Area.The Gala initiated with matches of Female students that were held at female sports area. It included matches of Cricket, Basketball, Chess, Throw ball, Badminton and Table Tennis.In Cricket, “Fab Six” from Medical Sciences Department beat “Silent Players” from Management Sciences Department by 6 wickets and were declared as winners. In the events of Badminton Muneeba Arain from Management Science Department beat Shinza Shahid from MBBS 11-7 in the finals, while in Throw ball Team of DPT warriors from DPT Department First.In Chess Iqra Naeem from Management Sciences Department and in Table Tennis; Aneera Ashfaq from Medical Sciences Department won the matches respectively.In Boys Section Table Tennis, Chess and Badminton were held first which started in the second week of the competition. In the final of Table Tennis Asadullah from MBBS bagged first position while in

    Badminton the winner was Yasir Shaikh from Isra University while in Chess Azhar Ahmed from MBBS with his exceptional performance positioned first.Cricket the most popular of Sports Gala 2017 had great number of twenty-one teams participating from all departments of university. With five pools, there were daily four to five matches on league basis in the first round and then in the second round onwards knockout matches were held. After seven days of intense league competition two teams Alumni XI and Final Year XI made it to the final. The Final saw an excellent match which was played under lights and in the final Alumni XI lost to Final Year XI by 6 wickets.Further the matches of Football, Basketball and Volleyball were organized. Sun Risers from MBBS beat Elum Tigers from the MBBS by 7-4 goals in the final of basketball. In the Football event Pathan MBBS from FM&AMS beat Kungfu from the FES&T and FCE&MS by 5-2 goals in the final to lift the championship. While in the Volleball, Super Kings from FM&AMS were the winners.This huge event was organized by Mr. Irfan Haroon, Chief Organizer, Sports Gala 2017 & Director Student Affairs, Isra University, Hyderabad, Mr. Saad Khan Baloch, Coordinator, Sports Gala 2017 & Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Science Technology and other team members including Zafar Bhatti, M.     Seminar on Management & Leadership

    The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization of Isra University, Hyderabad organized one-day session on Management and Leadership Skills on 17th October 2017 at Asadullah Kazi Auditorium, Isra University Hyderabad with an objective of developing essential skills to motivate fellows, colleagues and team members to achieve desired goals with exceptional

    performance and meeting standards. Further it focused on improving abilities to communicate effectively. In the session, 300 Participants from corporate sector, academia and students of different institutes and universities from various

    cities of Sindh participated.     Business Model Generation 2017

    Training Workshop on "Peach Tree Software”

    Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE)-Isra University, Hyderabad organized a one-day workshop on Business Model Generation 2017 on 18th October, 2017, at Asadullah Kazi Auditorium Isra University, Hyderabad. Isra University has been organizing Business Model Generation since 2013. The reason it continues to do so is because BMG helps to enhance creativity and innovative skills amongst the students and teach them collaboration and team work. The objective of this workshop was to train business leaders to drive positive change in society by building enterprises. Moreover, it architected the emerging ideas into profitable business concepts

    Isra Economics & Finance Society in collaboration with Department of Management Sciences organized One Day Training Workshop on "PeachTree Software" (Accounting Application Software) on Saturday, 29 October 2017 at Isra University, Hyderabad.The aim of this training was to equip students with the technical skills needed to maintain professional record of their Final Year Business Projects.

Organizers of the workshop were Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Qazi, Dr. Qamaruddin Mahar, Mr. Zafar A. Siddiqui, Ms. Wafa Pathan, Ms. Donia Niaz, Mr. Ebbad Qureshi, Mr. Ahsan Ansari and Mr. Muazam Memon. Facilitators of the event were Mr. Zafar A. Siddiqui, Ms. Wafa Pathan and Ms. Donia Niaz.

    Around 50 students from final year of Bachelors of Business Administration participated in the workshop.The trainer of the event was Mr. Narvind Kumar with a wide experience of training various professionals at different organizations facilitated the event. Closing the event, Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Patron-in-Chief, IEFS presented souvenir to the trainer and distributed certificates among organizers.

    Career Development Center (CDC) under the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) organized a one-day workshop on “Interviewing and Negotiation Skills” on Tuesday 7th November' 2017, at Skill-Lab Block-C Isra University Hyderabad. The session was facilitated by Ms. Hina Malik, Site Learning and Development Manager at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). It ws organized in two parts initials consisting of a lecture and latter was a mock interviewing session where over 150 students from different faculties participated in the workshop.The purpose of this session was to enhance the interview skills of

    Isra University students participated in Distinguished Innovations, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship (DICE) 2017 competition at Mehran UET, Jamshoro on 12 December, 2017. Final year students of January 2014 batch participated enthusiastically by showcasing their final year projects at the event. DICE provided our students with an opportunity to exchange and share their knowledge, novel ideas, concepts and their application experiences.The team was accompanied by Engr. Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad, Engr. Saad Baloch, Engr. Irshad Memon and Engr. Bharat Lal, faculty members, Isra University, Hyderabad. Mr. Owais Laghari, Federal Minister for Energy & Power was the chief guest on the occasion.

    The exhibition of Final Year project was held on 19 December 2017 at Isra University Hyderabad, where the students of Electrical Engineering displayed their projects for the jury.The externals of the event were Prof. Dr. Haroon Rasheed, Chairperson, Electrical Engineering Department, Bahria University, Karachi and Engr. Gulzar Dasti, Executive Engineer, HESCO. The externals gave positive remarks to the students and were impressed by the students' efforts and the quality of their research.     National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Pakistan Accreditation visit was held on 13 December, 2017 to accredit Isra University and its TVET Programs associated with NAVTTC.     thA memorandum of understanding was signed on 19 December 2017 between Isra University and GIZ, Germany indicating an intended common line of action for imparting TVET trainings in GIZ Training Fund Implementation for Sindh Project. The numbers of people are certain to be trained in a year, which is 200 and trainees will be trained to assist them in the areas of Beauty Therapy, House Keeping, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Customer services & Sales Assistant and Auto CAD.The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Engineering & Management Science, Isra University, Hyderabad, Project Head and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Administration along with GIZ officials.
