KPS FAIR 9th November 2019

Kerrimuir Primary School is committed to Child Safety and the inclusion of all the children

KPS Fun Fair — Thank you! Thank you to everyone in our school community who braved the wintery

weather and came out to support our fair last Saturday. Special thanks to

all the parents involved in preparing over 3,000 dumplings…

from the comments we received on the day there is no doubt that dumpling

stall was the stand out hit of this year’s fair!

We know you are all dying to know how much we raised. We are still tallying up the final

figures, and waiting on some final payments for silent auction items, but at this point we

can tell you that between direct profit from the fair and the generous support of our

sponsor, North Blackburn Shopping Centre, it looks like we will surpass

our fundraising goal and have more than enough profit from the fair to

build our new bike shed! Check out next week’s newsletter when we

expect to announce a final figure!

Did you take any photos on the day?

Our fair committee were so busy keeping everything running on the day that we

neglected to get out cameras! If you have some nice photos of the fair that you would be

happy to share, please email them to Katherine Harding, at [email protected].

Kerrimuir HAS Got Talent!

And the winner is…. We held the grand final of KGT at the school fair on

Saturday. All the acts were great but the act that came first

overall was Alysha Clegg who sang the song

“Speechless”. Our guest host Melinda Gregory also got

to choose a winner, and the Mel’s Choice award went to

Lucy Southgate who did a tap dance.

Congratulations to all the competitors and thank you to

everyone who was involved in our first ever KGT,

especially Mrs Kenny who helped me to organise it!

LIBRARY News

Kerrimuir Primary School is committed to Child Safety and the inclusion of all the children

Get Connected!

I hope you all enjoyed the Fair last Saturday and purchased some pre-loved

books for your family to enjoy.

Borrowing for the year will finish next Friday (22nd Nov.) and all books will

need to be returned by Friday 29th November at the latest. This will enable a

Stocktake and reorganisation of the Library to take place, in readiness for the

2020 school year. Overdue notices should make their way home this week and

please assist us by chasing up any outstanding book returns.

This week in the Library, it was great to see so many students borrowing books

from the Remembrance Day display. It is encouraging that so many children

are interested and in turn learn more about our history.

Parents, even though formal borrowing will soon be finished for the year, a visit

to the local Library will ensure your children continue to enjoy selecting their

own books for reading at home. Exchanging books with friends, is also a good

way of sharing books, that otherwise might sit on the bookshelf at home

gathering dust!

Happy reading!
