We are in the process of making an appointment to replace her and will make an announcement as soon as we have a teacher confirmed for this position. We wish Mrs Pasley and her family all the best for their move and new adventure. Thank you to everyone who came along to the Meet the Teacherevening last week. We were pleased to be able to talk with parents about the year ahead and answer any questions they had. The presentation from this evening can be viewed on our school website under About Us Curriculum Meet the Teacher. This provides some useful information especially about what you can do to support your children with their homework. In the drop down menu under the curriculum there are also digital documents titled “Supporting Your Child’s Learning” that provide you with information about what children at each year level need to be doing to achieve the national standards and how you can help at home. You can access them by clicking on this link http://www.st-benedicts.school.nz/?page_id=704. We were blessed with a fantastic day for the annual school picnic last Friday. It was great to see everyone having such a good time joining in the fun and activities together. I would like to thank all the parents who came along and joined in. Thank you also to Mrs Taylor and the teachers for their organisation of this day. This is a great way to begin our school year together as a community. We have posted some photos on our new school blog which can be viewed here http://stbensepicblog.blogspot.co.nz/ . Remember, tomorrow we will be holding a beginning of year Mass at St Benedict’s Church at 9.15am where we come together as a community to celebrate the beginning of a new school year. WEEKLY REFLECTION

"The Church does not engage in proselytism (ie seeking to convert others). Instead, she grows by “attraction”: just as Christ “draws all to himself” by the power of his love, culminating in the sacrifice of the Cross, so the Church fulfills her mission..." Pope Benedict XVI
