Evaluation / Monitoring and quality management

• Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade, Portugal, presented the results of the 2nd meeting evaluation. It was noticed a positive evaluation and the high commitment of partnership members.

• Recommendations were regarding on elaborating the to do list within steering committee and find alternative solution for collaborative space of work.

• Handbook on evaluation plan and interim report evaluation are to be finished before interim project report to be submitted to French NA – end of August 2016. Thereby, partners will receive by email the link for the 3rd meeting evaluation ( one questionnaire per participant) but also the link for interim report evaluation ( one questionnaire per partner). They are all invited to complete the questionnaire with no delay.

Strategy for dissemination and exploitation of project results . Conclusion of the 1st global dissemination report

• Quarter Mediation, Netherlands, presented the conclusions of the 1st global dissemination report.

• So far, the partners in the TICS consortium organized 86 dissemination activities that reached 5380 people from 21 different European countries.

• The project website was created by the project coordinator IFRTS and 3 sections dedicated to TICS project were created on the following partners’ webpages: QMED-NL, Civiform-IT, RRI-SK.

• In order to made the project TICS more visible at national and European level, a project flyer was created by the project coordinator and it is available in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Slovakian. An article in a local newspaper was published in Slovakia aimed to reach 4000 households.

• The significant number of dissemination activities organised by the partners in the consortium shows the dissemination effort done by the TICS project partners in order to promote the project objectives, activities and results to a big number of people and organisations involved in fighting early school leaving in the countries involved in the project and also in other European countries.

Overview O1 – Consumer perceptions and practices of young digital natives

• ITG Conseil, France, presented the general report on O1.

• As decided during previous meeting, ITG developed an overall report - complete version (EN), and a resumed version only with selected relevant information to be translated in all partners languages except Dutch, given that in the Netherlands almost everybody speaks English, as the compulsory first foreign language.

• The draft short and long versions are already available in French and English.

• The final versions will be soon available on the project website.

Development O2 - Digital natives" tool case: tools to educate youth about the risks of digital addictions

• Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade, Portugal presented a draft methodology for O2 development and invite all participants to discussion.

• It was decided to focus the development process on 3 digital addictions: gaming; social networks; texting.

• The 1st phase it consists on collect existing materials related to risks of the 3 defined digital addictions. Each partner is in charge to present one tool for each of 3 digital addictions before 25/07/2015.

• The 2nd phase, it supposes to develop new tools ( ex: quiz, videos, ppt, description of workshops, …) focused on balance between real life and digital life. Each partner should develop one tool for each of identified addiction (gaming; social networks; texting).

• During the 3rd phase, partners will select from the 21 developed tools, the ones that will be common to all partnership, translated in all languages and tested during piloting. This can be done during the learning activity in Portugal.

Overview O3 – Information and Communication Technologies used in socio-educational activities

• Agentúra RRI, Slovakia has elaborate the general report of O3 that was evaluated as complex and some improvements were identified as including a summary of data analyze after each main topic and define clear recommendation.

• It was decided that RRI will develop an overall report - complete version (EN), and a resumed version only with selected relevant information to be translated in all partners languages except Dutch, given that in the Netherlands almost everybody speaks English, as the compulsory first foreign language.

Development O4 – Using digital for support, it’s possible

• CIEP, Belgium presented the strategy for O4 development that generates a debate between partners regarding O4 operational aims. Several proposals were made in order to better adapt the strategy to partners expectations.

• The toolbox (La Mallette) is a set of materials, tools and approaches about « Accompaniment by the digital: it’s possible » (Accompagner par le numérique, c'est possible), having the following main objectives:

– Awareness - raising tools kit for trainers and social workers

– Showing that ICT are relevant tools for professionals in the socio-educational sector (social workers, educators, socio-professional integration agent, guidance counselors)

– Changing the way the professionals think about ICT and their impacts on young people’s learning behavior

– Training, sensitizing and information tools about the benefits of ICT but also about their negative consequences in case of addiction.

Overview O5 – Project website and online community for two-way communication and action

• The project website is online available in all partners languages.

• The idea to leave partners the choice of using their own intern platform is open.

• IFRTS will develop a dedicated platform as specified in the project form before the end of July 2016. It seems appropriate to elaborate a guide about platform functionality and concept that can be transferred to any learning platform increasing in these way exploitation opportunities even after the project life span.

Bibliotheek Assen Study visit and best practices examples

• The library of Assen is one of the most advanced HiTech library in the Netherlands and it is equipped with:

– a TV studio used for recording cultural shows for the local TV (ex: Kolkende Taal)

– one Multi Touch Screen, the only touch wall available in a public space in the Netherlands used for educational purposes such as: Interactive ICT lessons focused on how to surf safe on Internet and how to use the social media in a safe way; Educational apps ; Games; Business presentations

– two Touch tables used for: Searching information about books and local community; Watching the cultural shows recorded in its own television studio; Finding information; Playing educational games aimed to motivate the young people to learn; Benefiting by the educational apps created based on the needs of the schools in Assen

– a Social spot equipped with iMacs and iPads located in an inspiring and ultra-modern surroundings and used both for business and personal purposes such as: creating webpages; video editing; courses for students on the risks of using social media etc.

– Work places and study places used both by students for homework and projects, as well as by adults

• The library has a Free WiFi connection and is opened all week long, including in the weekends.

Drents Archief Study visit, hands-on workshops and best practices examples

• The Drenthe Archive maintains the view that education is one of the core tasks of an archive. Education with heritage as a source of interest to the intellectual and spiritual development of students.

• The Drenthe Archive has developed learning programmes in that the students from the whole region of Drenthe, take part for several times during their school career. The programmes are awarded with important international prizes, therefore the Minister of Culture from the Netherlands financed last summer the updating of the existing educational programmes and hardware, as well as and the creation of several new and motivating programmes and activities focused on education. The programmes are designed for all levels of education, starting from the primary and secondary education and ending with the adult education.

• TICS partners were involved in hands-on workshops and educational activities such as:

– “Operation Sigismund” , an educational game based on an interdisciplinary approach and on attractive ways to learn several school subjects such as history, geography, math, chemistry, physics etc.

– iPhone game “Historical routes”

– Archive films “School in the past” and “TT moto GP”
