Easter Bake off: Thanks to everyone who has entered the annual Easter bake off competition. We are looking forward to tasting and judging your creations. We need your help!: Are you a builder, carpenter or just very practical and good at DIY? If so we need your help. We have an additional storage shed for the PTFA which needs assembling and
we need to get a team together. If you are willing and able to assist then please could you email the PTFA and let us know. Our email address is [email protected] Matched funding: Do you work for a company that offers matched funding to its employees who support fundraising initiatives? We are very lucky to have a number of parents who support the PTFA events and the companies they work for offer this scheme. This is a really easy way for us to maximise the fundraising efforts of the school community and so we want to try and identify other parents who might be able to support.
We would really value people checking with their companies and seeing what support they might offer. We are keen to make this summer fayre a bumper year!! If you are able to help and haven’t done so before, then please
email the PTFA at the address shown above. Thank you in advance.
The children have been thinking deeply about Lent and what this time of reflection means to them. The responses to our Lenten Challenge have been really positive, with the children gaining much from sharing their time and talents with those around
them—thank you for all of your support with this.
We have had reports from parents about some children putting themselves, and others, in danger on the way to and from school. Please can I encourage you to speak to your child about ensuring they cross roads safely (walk) at crossings and also to stay on the pavements at all times (including whilst on school grounds).
We respectfully ask Nursery parents to assist us by keeping your children with you at all times, ensuring you wait as near to the fence as possible in order that the rest of the school can safely pass on the pavement.
Thank you to you all for helping to keep our children safe.
‘Being a church school makes a difference by…
providing our children with an understanding of Christianity which will
allow them to make an informed decision on religion in the future.’
Quote from the Parental Questionnaire
On Wednesday 13th
March, Year 4 travelled to Trinity Church, Sutton, to celebrate the final days on Jesus' life and retell the Easter Story. The children enjoyed the fabulous acting and were able to join in fully with Jesus'
last days on Earth. Many members of the class were also chosen to take on acting roles; such as Roman troops and members of the town. They also experienced what it might have been like to sit around Jesus' table and give
thanks, listening to the final words he gave to his beloved disciples. We all engaged in a memorable experience. Thank you to all the parent helpers who accompanied us and made this trip possible.

A message from the Headteacher
Well done to all the children in Years 2 to 6 who took part in our recent 500 Words Story-Writing Competition. The children shared their stories with pupils in other classes during World Book
Day and then the teachers set about judging them. The teachers thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the stories and found it pretty tricky to choose a winning entry from their class. The stories were judged on originality, character, plot, language and enjoyment. Huge congratulations to the winners, who received a certificate along with a notebook and pencil – just what all budding authors need! The winning entries will be displayed in KS2, for all to enjoy. The winners are:
Jack A Aquila Class
Ella M Cygnus Class
Ayla G Hercules Class
Jessica T Unicorn Class
Jess B Pegasus Class
Misty W Orion Class
Miranda T Phoenix Class
Maya S Delphinus Class

On 7th March 2019,the
jazz classes from Y1 to
Y6 put on an amazing
performance of the
work which they were perfecting for
weeks on end. Parents were invited
to come and watch and said it was a
‘show stopping performance’.
If you missed this show you will get a
chance to watch us in action at the

On Friday 8th March, St Dunstan's Tag Rugby team played away against All Saints Carshalton C of E Primary School and High View Primary School. The weather was not on our side and the ground was very
slippery but the team played well and maintained a good pace throughout the match.
The team played very well and achieved a good score against All Saints Carshalton but lost against High View.
I hope everyone enjoyed their matches as much as I enjoyed watching their progression and courage.
Thank you to all our team. Well done to you all! S Jenkins
It has come to our attention that a few visitors on site have not been adhering to the 5mph speed limit.
In order to ensure the safety of our children, staff and visitors, if you are entering the car park as a parent helper or have permission to park for another reason, please can you ensure that
you are mindful of, and respect, our speed restriction. We will do our best to ensure that delivery drivers and staff adhere to this limit as well.
Many thanks.

appointments to see your child’s class teacher.
If you have not already booked an appointment, the booking system is available until midday on Tuesday 26th
Thank you to everyone who supported ‘Red Nose Day’ on Friday 15th March. The children were allowed to wear something red with their normal school uniform. It was intriguing to see the variety of ways in which one red item of clothing could
be worn! It was lovely to see that everyone supported this worthy cause. The canteen staff also supported the day by decorating the servery and wearing red. We raised an incredible £400.00 for Comic Relief.
Many thanks for your continued support.
