Hi everyone,

My name is Sam Kavanagh, and I have taken on the role of Assistant

Principal for the first two terms of this year. I have had a thoroughly

enjoyable start to my time at here at Westbourne Park. The staff and

students have all been very warm and welcoming and I am eager to build

strong working relationships with all members of the school community.

As a part of my role, I will be supporting teachers to deliver innovative and

engaging teaching, handling the collection of school data to help direct

effective teaching practices and managing the coordination of school

sports. On Wednesdays, I will be teaching in LC1 to release Sharon

Ronavuso in her Literacy coach role.

In my spare time I love being active and spending

time with my friends and family, especially my two

beautiful children Eli (4) and Ivy (2). We enjoy swim-

ming, riding bikes and spending time outdoors.

If you see me about the school please feel free to

come and say hello, I am looking forward to getting

to know everyone.

NOTIFICATION OF 2020 PUPIL FREE DAY

AND SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY DATES

The pupil free day dates for 2020 have been finalised and ratified at the Governing

Council meeting on 11th February. There will be four Pupil Free days and one School

Closure day in line with Departmental Policy.

The pupil free days and school closure day dates will be (in date order):

Week 7, Term 1 - Tuesday 10th March

(follows the public holiday on Monday 9th March)

Week 1, Term 2 – Monday 27th April (first day of term 2)

Week 7, Term 3 – Monday 31st August

Week 5, Term 4 – Friday 13th November (School Closure Day)

Week 6, Term 4 – Monday 16th November

OSHC will be available for these dates.

Congratulations to Evan D. on the

success of winning the U13

N a t i o n a l F u t s a l C l u b

Championships in Sydney.

Evan has been invited to represent

Australia for a Futsal Tournament in

Barcelona in November 2020.

Full Payment of $410.00 by Thursday,

26th March 2020.

Payment of $210.00 by Thursday,

26th March 2020 & remaining $200.00 by

Thursday, 28th May 2020.

Monthly Direct Debit by Instalment

(Arrangements can be made directly with

Finance).

School Card

School Card needs to be applied for each year.

This is a Government funded subsidy for families

on low incomes. Eligibility is based on 2018-2019

taxable income. It has increased this year.

Families with 1 child with a gross income of

$60,264 may now be eligible. Any amount

above the School Card Grant is a voluntary

contribution only and not legally binding.

Education Levy 2020 for Excursions & Incursions.

Invoices have been sent home to all families.

Option 1 – Full Payment of $60.00 is due by

Thursday, 13th February, 2020

Option 2 – 1st payment of $30.00 is due by

Thursday, 13th February, 2020.

2nd Payment of $30.00 is due by Thursday,

28th May, 2020
