Hello Everyone

I am very happy to report that Breakfast Club is up and

running! The kids are loving having either a second

breakfast to top them up, or something in their tummies to

fuel their brains. I would like to extend an invitation to local

businesses to donate items for Breakfast Club. Thank you

to Stacey Mohr and Meals on Wheels for their generous

donation this week. Also I have attached an envelope to

each newsletter seeking small cash donations from

families to go towards breakfast expenses. Thank you.

For safety reasons in the carpark, there is a change to pick

up at home time. Parents are now asked to wait at the end

of the walkway between the OR room and the Library

where the seats are now located. The students will be

escorted out to this area. Please come to this area to get

your children as they are not permitted to walk through the

carpark to your car on their own.

Last night was our first P&C Zoom meeting, it went well

once everyone was connected! Thanks for everyone’s

contributions, please find my attached Principal Report.

After much deliberation it was decided to CANCEL THIS

YEAR’S FETE, in the hope to run another either early next

year or in 2022., depending on COVID-19 restrictions.

P&C are now discussing the possibility of other fundraising

efforts that can be conducted during these times.

This year’s fun run is being held on Friday 26th June. The

kids have been practising every day at school and we

have been encouraging them to seek donations for their

run. We are seeing improvement in their fitness and

determination each day, well done kids! Please send them

in sneakers everyday for this activity. Unfortunately no

parents/carers are able to participate in this year’s run due

to COVID-19 restrictions.

Have a great week

Canteen commences this Friday 5th June

NEIS P and C Principal Report 15/06/2020 Morning Bell Time Results overwhelmingly in favour of change. One note is fitness has replaced kids playing so they are still getting exercise in a supervised structured fashion. We have minimised any morning playground behaviour issues. Students are present, centred and ready to learn. Next question- would you be in favour of an earlier bell time for the end of school? We are entitled to reduce the bell time by 10 minutes making it 3:05pm, if Public School finish at 3:15pm that should be easier for dual school families as well as buses COVID restrictions Please see DoE website for daily updates otherwise continue to monitor our communication channels. Apologies for the sudden appearance of our barriers but unfortunately there were a few parents that just weren’t getting the message regarding COVID restrictions. Every school in NSW is operating under the same restrictions Flag opening We have arranged for a new flag to sit beside our existing flag at the new location of the front of the school along with new signs and paving. We will wait for the general public to be allowed back into school before we have our official opening. Staff room improvements The old staffroom is becoming the engine room for the staff again! We are renovating – putting the photocopier into the old store room, uniforms will remain in the store room but everything else has been stored in the old NOOSH shed. The sink / cleaner / gas heater cupboard in the staffroom is being pulled out and repainted. It is a space for professional staff conversations around education, intervention work, in-school suspensions, school councillor visits, other para professionals such as speech therapy and OT. Thank you to our P and C for their generous donation of $500 to cover the cost of painting the old storeroom. Breakfast Club Today was our first day of Breaky club. A great success 22 kids fed! We are approaching local businesses asking for donations in return for advertising in the newsletter, and I will put an envelope onto the newsletters for cash donations from school families Parent School Community Charter NSW DOE have a school Community Charter outlining the responsibilities for all parents / carers, teachers, and non teaching staff, around providing a safe collaborative and respectful learning environment in schools. I will send a copy of this home in newsletter. Liss Routley Principal
