Training Clinics

The committee have decided to make

use of the other end of the school at

9pm on club nights to hold extra classes

as training clinics. Each clinic will be

dedicated to teach specific disciplines

such as weaves, contacts, sending on

and all types of manoeuvres with jumps.

These classes will be taken by two

instructors with a maximum of 6

members. It will be a good opportunity

for those that have problems with

specific pieces of equipment to do some

intensive work. We plan to hold these

clinics once a month to begin with.

These classes will be in addition to our

normal classes and so therefore we will

be charging £3 for the hour. If you run

your dog in the adjacent class at 9pm we

can arrange for you to run your dog in

an earlier class. Please liaise with your

instructor concerning this a nd also be

advised by your instructor as to whether

your dog will be able to cope with

working two hours in one night.

We plan to hold our first clinic on

Thursday 15th April and we will be

training contacts.

You will need to pay and book your

place two weeks in advance.

Please see either Dee or Mel to book

your place.

Ready to Compete

To all those members that are ready

and want to compete, you must ensure

that your dog is registered with the

Kennel Club, either as a pedigree breed

or as a crossbreed on the activity

register. You will also be required to

have your dog measured into either

small, medium or large height and you

will also require a log book to record

your dogs details. Please liase with your

instructor regarding all this and he or

she will be able to advise you.

We can do agility too, you know

Our New Beginners

A big hello and welcome to our new

intake of beginners. Once again it's

great to see such a wide variety of

breeds from 'Long dogs' to

'Labradoodles' and Cockers to Collies!

It's lovely to see them all joining in -

and what a great start everyone has got

off to, especially turning up each week

during such a long, cold and wet, few

weeks. Well done to all of you.

Mel Buxton

Calendar 2011

We would like to produce a Stour Valley

Calendar for 2011 which will be

available for sale from November 2010.

This would make an ideal Christmas

present for your family and friends.

To do this we would like to include

photos of your dogs that train with us

at club. What I would like you all to do

is, is to take as many pictures of your

dogs, be it in the snow, for the winter

calendar months, or in the spring etc.

The photos can be of portrait style,

jumping, playing around anything that

you think will make a good picture in a

calendar.

Please email them to me Dee,

[email protected]

There will have to be a deadline and

that will be the end of July for

submitting photographs. In the

meantime look out for me nagging you

if I fail to get any photos from you!!

Good Luck!
