BOOK REVIEW BY DON MYERS VALLEY OF DECISION - The Siege Of Khe Sahn by John Prados & Ray W. Stubbe - 545 pages The best read book yet regarding the long fought tough battle at Khe Sahn where a reinforced regiment of Marines stopped the North Viet- namese Army of over four divisions in their tracks whom thought they were going to fight another Dien Bien Phu where the Communist north kicked the French's ass. Westmorland just couldn't figure out the Marine Corps' way of thinking and the clash between various generals and other high ranking brass brings to light how not to fight a battle, especially when stubbornness caused unnecessary lives. The author's did a suburb job of mixing detailed military historical ver-biage with interviews of Marines who did the dirty work. If you want to know what Vietnam fighting was like this is the book to read. For Nam vets it would be a cold visit to the past. Excellent read and fast paced.

MARINE BARRACKS INDY PLANK PROGRAM by Don Myers My fellow Marines; I AM IMPRESSED! During the past month FIVE NEW PLANKS have been added to our Wall Of Honor with donations to help us purchase this building in November 2011. A Hand Salute to our NEW PLANK HOLDERS. I noticed that two of our new Plank Marines had paid a little now and then for the past few months to reach their goal in obtaining the brass plate with their names and the Plank Certificate and Plank cover that goes with being a Plank Owner. In addition, it gives them the privilege of using the barracks hall for an event of their choice FREE OF CHARGE. (And on top of that they all get a Tax Break as an IRS donation.) I really feel proud of this group because they got us off of that 30%completeded mark that's been driving me up the wall seeing thther-mometerer not moving at all the past couple of months. Now, who is going to step up to bat and get us to the 40% or 50% mark? IT COULD BE YOU, all you have to do is send a few dollars to get started and before you know it you'll see your brass plate on our Plank Bulkhead (Wall) Semper Fi- Don Myers
