Soy licenciada en Psicopedagogía, egresada de la Universidad Durango Santander Campus Nogales.

Mis pasatiempos son ir al cine, escuchar música, bailar, aprender cosas nuevas y pasar tiempo de calidad con mis seres queridos.

Elegí ser docente porque considero que es el trabajo más duro y gratificante a la vez, el brindar un servicio y tener la habilidad

de reforzar mentes y corazones. Desde niña, he sido inspirada por grandes docentes quienes además de brindarme conocimien-

to, me dieron las mejores lecciones de vida. Mi objetivo como maestra es mejorar continuamente porque aprender es un proce-

so eterno que también me gustaría transmitir a mis alumnos compartiendo interés, conocimiento, experiencia, disposición y

pasión. Creo firmemente en "cambiar el mundo, un niño a la vez”.

I graduated from the University of “Durango Santander Campus Nogales” with a degree in Psychopedagogy.

My hobbies are going to the movie theater, listening to music, dancing, reading, learning new things and spending

quality time with my love ones. I chose to be a teacher because I believe it is a challenging job but also very gratify-

ing because I can be of service to others and have the opportunity to strengthen minds and hearts. Since I was a

little girl, I was inspired by great teachers who gave me knowledge but also the greatest lessons in life. My goal as a

teacher is to continuously improve because learning is an everlasting process that I would like to transmit to my

students by sharing with them interests, knowledge, expertise, willingness and passion. I truly believe in “Changing

the world one child at a time”.

News from the Classroom...

Kindergarten

I hope everybody enjoyed the holidays! A new year has begun and new learning

experiences and challenges to come. Thank you parents for all of your support

during the first semester. We will continue working hard and teaching our schol-

ars important concepts and values. We will begin the first grade math program

were our scholars will be learning first grade math concepts and begin their jour-

ney to become great mathematicians. This third quarter is all about growth in

reading in both languages. Please continue to make sure your child does their

homework and practice reading in both languages. Let’s continue to work as a

team for the academic success of your children.

¡Espero que todos hayan disfrutado las fiestas decembrinas! Un nuevo año ha

comenzado y nuevos aprendizajes y retos están por venir. Gracias padres de

familia, por todo su apoyo durante este primer semestre. Este segundo semestre

continuaremos trabajando y enseñando a los estudiantes conceptos y valores im-

portantes. Iniciaremos con el programa de matemáticas de primer grado donde

los alumnos aprenderán conceptos de matemáticas de primer grado e iniciaran

su camino a convertirse en grandes matemáticos. El crecimiento de los alumnos

en lectura en ambos idiomas es de suma importancia este tercer cuarto. Por favor

continúe asegurándose de que su hijo/a cumpla con las tareas y siga practicando

la lectura en ambos idiomas. Continuemos trabajando en equipo para el éxito

académico de sus hijos!

Happy New Year! We welcome January hoping you had an amazing vacation. We

begin with our 3rd

quarter. During this quarter we will focus on writing. Students will

work on narrative and informative writing following the writing process. We are very

proud of our students who reached their benchmark in both languages English and

Spanish in reading and math.

During this month, we will continue practicing the virtues of previous months and we

will introduce new ones. Please help your scholar reinforce our previous month’s vir-

tues at home at every opportunity they have. Our goal is to develop great minds and

kind hearts that care about their community.

We would like to thank all parents who have been helping with the $5 dollar donation

for our "Tiendita". Thanks to that, we have managed to meet the needs of our level.

¡Feliz año 2020! Esperamos hayan disfrutado de unas merecidas vacaciones. Ini-

ciamos con el tercer cuarto. Nuestro enfoque durante este cuarto será en escritura.

Los estudiantes trabajaran en escritura narrativa e informativa siguiendo el proceso

de escritura. Nos sentimos muy orgullosas de los estudiantes que alcanzaron sus

metas académicas tanto en lectura en inglés como en español y matemáticas.

Durante este mes seguiremos practicando las virtudes de los meses anteriores e in-

troduciremos nuevas. Favor de aprovechar cualquier oportunidad para reforzar estas

virtudes en casa. Nuestra meta es crear mentes sanas y de buen corazón que se

preocupen por su comunidad.

Queremos agradecer a todos los padres que nos han apoyado con los $5 dólares

Enero 2020 Bienvenido a una nueva oportunidad de hacer de la experiencia del aprendizaje una actividad de gozo. Con alegría les compartimos que a partir de este mes, la maestra Mitzi Ruiz se hará cargo de la enseñanza de las clases de Español en el Nivel ll. Usted puede agregar el siguiente contacto de Ms. Ruiz por Remind App: Número 81010, SMS: @4b2376 El tercer cuarto comienza con importantes retos, como el progreso en los niveles de lectura en ambos lenguajes, así como el avance en el conocimiento de cada una de las materias acadé-micas. La semana de enero 27-31 los estudiantes serán evaluados en su nivel de lectura en Español con los exámenes DRA. La asistencia diaria a la escuela es requerida. Los grupos de tutorías han sido reorganizados para atender las necesidades específicas de nuestros estudiantes. Si su hijo/a falta frecuentemente a las tutorías, perderá el privilegio de recibir esa ayuda adicional. En el tercer cuarto los estudiantes se preparan intensamente para las evaluaciones estatales. Por favor apoye a su hijo/a con puntualidad, supervisión y motivación. La clase de inglés leerá el libro Number the Stars con el propósito de guiar una lectura de com-prensión a través del uso de estrategias y preguntas de pensamiento crítico. Welcome to a new opportunity to make this learning experience an enjoyable one. It is with great joy that we announce that starting this month of January, Miss Mitzi Ruiz will be in charge of teach-ing the Spanish classes in Level II. Feel free to contact her through Remind: 81010, SMS @4b2376. Third quarter begins with important goals, like the reading progress in both languages, as well as the academic progress in every subject. On the week of January 27th-31st, our scholars Spanish reading level will be evaluated. Daily school attendance is required. We will continue with tutoring to address our scholars specific needs. Attendance of tutoring classes is also required or your scholar may lose the privilege of re-ceiving this help. In our 3rd Quarter we begin with an intense preparation for the state tests. Please help by super-vising, motivating, and making sure your child is in school and on time on a daily basis. This quarter the English class will read the book Number the Stars, with the purpose of guiding scholars’ reading comprehension through the use of different reading and critical thinking strate-gies. We hope the enthusiasm of the new year remains with you throughout 2020. Wishing you the best in 2020!

Dear Level III parents, We hope that this New Year is full of blessings for you and your family that will

endure throughout 2020. Second quarter has come to an end and Level III students have made a significant improvement in their AR reading level. We are still emphati-cally asking to keep supporting your son/daughter at home with AR reading and reading logs. Let’s continue working together for the benefit of your son/daughter’s learning. This new quarter will be filled with new challenges. In English we will be reading the book A Long Way Gone and in Spanish we will continue reading Es-peranza Renace, making these books are an excellent addition to your child’s home library. Thank you for your tiendita’s donations! With your support, we were able to buy six new tablets for level three students.

Por este medio queremos desearles que este año Nuevo que acaba de iniciar,

esté colmado de bendiciones para ustedes y sus familias y que perdure a lo largo de

todo el 2020. El segundo cuarto ha concluido y los alumnos han logrado avanzado

significativamente en su nivel de lectura AR. Continuamos solicitando de manera en-

fática, el apoyo en casa con la lectura y con las cartillas de lectura, ya que continua-

remos trabajando juntos para el beneficio académico de su hijo/a. Este nuevo cuarto

viene lleno de retos y desafíos. En inglés, este cuarto estaremos leyendo el libro A

Long Way Gone y en español continuaremos con la lectura del libro Esperanza Re-

nace. Estos libros son una gran adquisición para su biblioteca de casa. Gracias a

Happy New Year!

As we ring in the New Year, we welcome you back to school. We hope you enjoyed

the winter break and the holidays. We are excited and energized about this semester

of learning and reaching academic and community goals. May this year bring new

goals, new achievements and inspiration. This semester we will continue our focus

on climate change. Our scholars will be researching youth expressions and leader-

ship about this issue. With the tools and knowledge scholars will gain from immersion

about climate change they will develop videos to address this issue and share these

videos with our community to spread awareness about this urgent local and world-

wide concern.

Feliz Año Nuevo!

Iniciamos el año 2020 y les damos la bienvenida de regreso a clases. Esperamos

que hayan disfrutado de las vacaciones de invierno y las fiestas decembrinas. Esta-

mos entusiasmados por este semestre de aprendizaje y el logro de objetivos acadé-

micos y comunitarios. Esperamos que este año traiga nuevas metas, nuevos logros

e inspiraciones. Este semestre continuaremos enfocándonos en el cambio climático.

Los estudiantes investigarán expresiones y liderazgo juvenil sobre este tema. Con

las herramientas y el conocimiento que los estudiantes obtendrán de la inmersión en

el cambio climático, los estudiantes desarrollaran videos para abordar este problema

y compartirán estos videos con nuestra comunidad para dar a conocer esta urgente

preocupación local y mundial.

WHAT IS A TAX CREDIT?

A tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction in the actual tax owed to the State of Arizona. It reduces your tax lia-

bility by the amount you donate, up to $400 for married couples and $200 for single or head of household. The

tax credit can also be taken as a donation on your federal tax return.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

There are plenty! You, the taxpayer, get a Tax Credit for supporting our school. The tax credit donation lets you

choose how your tax dollar will be spent. We all benefit because extra-curricular activities help children devel-

op qualities such as leadership, personal growth and cooperation. They also provide safe, supervised activities

for students. Everyone wins.

WHAT ARE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTITIVIES?

Extra-curricular activities are defined as school sponsored activities that require enrolled students to pay a fee

in order to participate. Such activities include (but are not limited to): field trips, fine arts, music, and athletics,

just to name a few.
