Burral-gang Class News Friday 15th March, 2019 Pineapple Art

First we started our pineapples art by drawing a pineapple. Mrs Taylor helped guide us. Mrs Taylor drew hers on the whiteboard and we drew ours in our art book as a draft.

The next week we drew our pineapple on art paper as our final draft. Then we had to paint our pineapples with water colour paints. Next we had to draw our interesting patterns on our pineapples with water colour pencils or sharpies. We had to make our pineapples’ colours pop! Written by Kieesha

Baryugil Class News—PE session

Homework is usually distributed on Tuesdays. Homework is to be returned on Friday to enable marking over the weekend.

Our major PE day is Thursday. Sport uniform can be worn on Thursdays.

Dear KVE Members

Thank you for showing us your restored vehicles. I enjoyed looking at them al. I liked how at the end the Lark blew the horn. Nobody found the horn in the Lark but they found the horns in all of the other vehicles. The loudest was the Lark.

My friends and I went in the back of a vehicle where the dog Toby sat. There was a ball and a leash.

My favourite vehicle was the Lark. The Lark’s tyres were bigger than me!

The Amphicar was white. Mrs Mac went in the Amphicar and went for a drive down the road.

I would like to do it again because I got to learn a lot of new things. I also went in vehicles that I had never been in before.

I think that the Jeeps and Landrovers were used to carry soldiers and supplies around. Written by Hannah

School Attendance

Students will achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options through regular attendance at school. In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling. All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent. Young people below the age of 17 must be:

in school, or registered for home schooling

in approved education or training, such as a traineeship, apprenticeship or TAFE

in full-time paid employment (average 25 hours a week)

in a combination of work, education and/or training.

Students 17 years and over who are enrolled in school are required to attend school regularly to meet HSC course requirements.

Parents must explain all absences to the school within 7 days, including a Doctors certificate if applicable.

For partial absences—Students arriving late or leaving early must be signed in / out at the school office giving a valid reason for doing so. Eg—student has a medical appointment.

Woolworths Earn ‘n Learn is back again for 2019. Our school has been registered. Stickers will be handed out at Woolworths checkouts between 1 May and 25 June.

Please collect your stickers and save them for our school to purchase much needed resources for the students.

Lunch Boxes, Child Welfare and the Impact on Learning.

Please ensure that your child comes to school with a healthy crunch n slip, recess and lunch. It has been observed that children who do not eat at recess and lunch breaks experience a negative impact on their learning for the afternoon. We want your children to be happy, healthy and successful in their learning.

Icy Poles

Well done to all the students to remember to wear their hats outside as part of our sun safe policy. They were rewarded with an icy treat today for the last fortnight’s consistency in remembering to be sun safe.

Halogen Young Leader Day

On Monday 18th March, Ella Webb travelled to Melbourne to attend the Young Leader Conference at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Ella enjoyed the day and found the guest speakers very interesting.
