We are super proud of our classroom and what we have achieved in our learning so far this year.

Our class has been learning the effects on our environment of pollution, the impact of plastics

and the benefits of recycling. We have studied “The Tin Forrest” which is about a wide, wind-

swept place, near nowhere and close to forgotten that was filled with all the things that no one

wanted." So begins Helen Ward's tale of the Tin Forest where an old man lives who tidies the rub-

bish and dreams of a better place. With faith, ingenuity and hard work, he transforms a junkyard

into a wonderland in this poetic modern fable.

This year in art we have worked with a number of different products including sticks and foil to

produce some fine pieces of artwork.

adventurous skills.

We have really stepped out of

our comfort zones taking on

new challenges and realising

that there is lots of fun to

enjoy.

Taking on learning basketball

skills as part of our sporting

At the Year 4 camp we

participated in a number

activities like canoeing, rock

climbing, archery and

snorkelling just to name a few.

Wow what a great time we

had!

Our Year Four students enjoyed the wonderful hospitality

provided by the team at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation

last week.

The students snorkelled, climbed, cooked, canoed and shot

arrows during the three amazing days at camp. They were also

lucky enough to have a close encounter with a Sea Lion as it

basked in the sun. The weather provided a spectacular

backdrop and Ms Snow, Mrs Calleja and I were so proud of the

way the students stepped out of their comfort zone

to challenge themselves.

'A little nonsense now and

then, is relished by the

wisest men'. And didn't we

get up to some nonsense

on Friday 13 September to celebrate Roald Dahl Day. So many

of Roald Dahl's characters were magically brought to life to

celebrate his wonderful contribution to literature. Foxes,

witches, giants, peaches, blueberries, Wonkers, Charlies,

Trunchbulls and so many more delights enchanted the

audience as they paraded their marvellous costumes.

Thank you to all of the students and teachers who made the

day so scrumdiddlyumptiously enjoyable.

Magnificent Mangoes! We’ve had a great response to the news that we’ll be selling

mango trays early next term! Keep your eyes peeled for the note

that will be coming home straight after the holidays.

Bunnings BBQ Clear your calendar for Saturday, 30 November

2019 and come along and help us raise some

money for our awesome school.

We’ll need sausage turners, money handlers, drink

selectors, sauce bottle fillers, sandwich deliverers as well as set

up and take down teams. Every volunteer hour is valued and it

all gets invested in our kids. Please message our Facebook page

if you can help.

A Warm Welcome It’s fabulous to see some new faces at our canteen window – a

warm welcome to Mary and Lianne! Our regulars also do a

fantastic job and are always happy to show our new volunteers

around. If you think it’s something you’d like to do, please pop

by the canteen and put your name down. Our canteen always

has a really great vibe. Kids love to be served by a member of

their family and it’s a good chance to pick up some tricks of the

trade to get some healthier options into your child’s lunch boxes!

Got Any Business Connections? We’re looking for one or two major prizes for our Christmas Carols

raffle – things like accommodation, travel, experiences…. If you

have any connections or can think of anyone we should try, let

us know. We’d love to be able to offer a fantastic giveaway to

our community!

Next Meeting Join us for our next meeting at 3.15pm on Monday 28 October

2019 in the staff room. All welcome.

Happy Holidays Holidays are here! Enjoy the break from uniforms, school lunches

and routines and spend time with your kids. Stay safe, relax and

have fun.
