End of Year Experience - Sovereign Hill

As part of our end of year celebrations, the whole school will be going on an excursion to Sovereign Hill, Ballarat, on Thursday December 8th. Buses will be leaving school at 9:15am (please be at school on time) and returning at 3:00pm. Sovereign Hill is a living museum with working exhibits brought to life by costumed characters and over 40 horses. Set on 25 acres of an original mining site, Sovereign Hill is a goldfields town with shops, hotels, a theatre, schools, factories, a gold diggings and underground mines to explore. Notes regarding our end of year whole school excursion to Sovereign Hill have been sent home with every child. We ask that you please return these to your child’s classroom teacher or the office as soon as possible. As part of the day, our students will also get the opportunity to participate in some of the activities that Sovereign Hill has to offer such as a gold mine visit, gold pour demonstration, a session in the Education Centre and watching confectionary (lollies) being made. On the day, all students must be dressed in full school uniform including school Sun Smart hats. Students will also need to bring their snacks, lunch and drinks in a suitable carry bag (e.g. a small backpack or bag) which they will be responsible for on the day. No glass to be brought along.
