The curtain comes down tonight on the 2010 Blizzard Series. A champion

will be crowned in the ever so popular five race mini-series for the Super Late Models. After four races, Dawsonville Georgia’s Chase Elliott holds a slim twenty-nine (29) point lead over Augie Grill while Bubba Pollard is only twenty-three (23) points behind in third.

The Blizzard Series finale usually provides one of

the largest and most competitive field of Super Late’s of the season….due to it being everyone’s last chance to see what they got for the upcoming Snowball Derby in December.

Not only will the above trio be looking for a championship, but driver’s such

as Josh Hamner and Donnie Wilson will be trying to advance up in the standing, not necessarily for the money, but for a guaranteed spot in the Derby as first and second in the final standings will be assured a starting berth.

Why is this so important might you ask? You see; when the entire field

is usually within ¾ of a second of each other it’s real important because no matter how good your car is just one little miscue while qualifying could send you home.

This is not the only championship that will be decided tonight. We will crown a

champion in the Super Stocks as well. Randy Thompson holds a twenty-nine (29) point lead

over Earl Polk and these two drivers are looking to put their name in the Five Flags Speedway record books.

In closing I would like to say how proud we are to see Rubber and

Specialties back as a sponsor. We have missed you in the last few years. They are gathered on the speed deck in turn 4.

We send best wishes to Johanna Long and the Panhandle team at

the speedway in Las Vegas. Jo has her own truck, number 20, and will be competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck race tonight.

Finally, we welcome back the Krewe da Ya Yas, with a touch of fun and color

(mostly pink) to tonight’s race.

“When Augie Grill was 8,

Gary “Hotshoes” Balough gave him his first race car, a

go-cart. He used Balough’s 112 on the cart, and ever

since. Both won Snowballs in #112..

.

So Why Does Augie Use “Hotshoes” Balough’s Car Number?
