    PARKING PRESSURES AROUND THE SCHOOL

In recent weeks, you may have noticed Shire Traffic Inspectors, patrolling the early morning drop offs and

pickups around the school. Please note, the school has no jurisdiction over these matters when

    infringements are issued.

The school is however astutely aware of the limited parking spaces and drop off zones

around the school due to Life Ed Van, Building works and Family Life.

Please be assured that the safety of our students is of paramount importance and we

will continue to be proactive in this important area.In the interim, we encourage you to leave a few minutes earlier each

morning/afternoon so that you might park a little further away from the school, thereby

    eliminating any potential frustrations/safety concerns.

A staff member parked in the Staff Car Park had their car damaged last week. If you have any information in

regard to this incident please make contact with the office. It is a timely reminder that parents are not to park

in this area. The space is to be used by staff including cleaners and visitors from the Educational settings.

    Life Education VictoriaEducation program:

Have you ever considered the following?

What is my child learning in Life Education?Have your seen inside the Life Education mobile classroom, or know of Harold?

What drug education is appropriate for primary school student?

Why do we have health and drug education?

How is health and drug education integrated into your schools curriculum?

the Life Education van will be at our school from the 24thOctober and all students will

visit the mobile classroom over the course of the week.

Our schools Halloween themed disco will be on Friday 31st

October. The students are encouraged to dress up in

costumes and come and dance and have fun. There will be prizes for the best male and female costumes.

Axel our resident DJ will host the night. Entry into the Disco is $5 which will buy the student a drink and a

small pkt of chips. Due to limited space there will be a junior and senior disco at the following times:

Concert Stories by 2BOn the day my legs were shivering but when I got there I was feeling a bit better. First the kinder kids

sang, they were doing a good job with the words.

Then the choir was backstage and then they performed in front of

    the whole school.

Next the preps sang two songs together. After the preps it was the

grade ones turn. 1H sang first then it was 1Ps turn. After 1Ps turn it

was us!!!!I was really scared and nervous. Luckily when I got into the song I

was not nervous anymore. Then it was 2Js turn they were a dragon

and it was awesome as they had lights on the dragon.

All of the other acts were good but the funniest act of all was the teachers with Mr Whitworth playing the

drum and then standing on it. By Ella G

On Friday we went to the concert and 2B was 8 thin the program. We did a Bali song and 2J did adragon dance. We were practising and practising and we did it.

And we got claps. and then the finale. By Riley 2B

Our grade 2B went to the concert on the 24thof October on Friday.

When it was our turn I went in the front near Mackenzie. As the curtains

opened, I straight away got stage fright.

We sang head, shoulders, knees and

toes in Indonesian speech. The song

    was called Kepala, Punduk, Lutut,

Kaki. As I was singing I started to shiver but it started to stop when

    the curtains were closing.

After all the acts I went home and got changed into my PJsand I

went to bed after I was ready.I had lots of fun at the concert. My costume was a sarong and a black t-

shirt. The sarong had a picture of Luna park on it. The next morning

I was very tired because I had a big bike ride. I had a very, very good

    day. By Summer

On Friday Marshall and I got ready for the concert. When it was2Bs turn we were singing an Indonesian song and Mum was

smiling at me. My legs were shaking when I got on stage but as Igot into it and saw Mum smiling I was happy. By Tristan S

    The concert

The concert for 2014 is starting. The kinders act was first. Then it was

the preps. Soon after was the grade 1s. After was 2B.

Then it was us. We got the dragon ready and soon the

music started. We marched out and everyone was

amazed. We had to go up some stairs and that was thepart when people were slow. We did a big circle on the

stage then put the dragon down. We did another

big circle on stage but without the dragon. Soon

we got into our lines but most people went in the front line

instead of the back line. We did our moves counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,

6, 7, 8 then changing moves. After a couple of minutes, our act

    was over.

Butterflies gobbling in my tummy and soon the music went onDent, Dent,

Dent Dent. We stomped through the crowd and

followed the person in front of us. I felt nervous,

then I felt extremely excited. Then I saw my Mum,

Dad, Poppy and Lily and I felt happy. We were all

white. Mrs Young showed us the moves then we

went on stage. The dragons head was red. Wewere lined up biggest to smallest. Then we did

the karate moves and Paige and I got

interviewed. Oliver said to me, Where did you get your costume from?

I said, The shops. Then it was Paiges turn.

Gus said to Paige, Who made the moves up?

Paige said, Mrs Young, and she did a wonderful job.

Then we went and sat on the floor. When 2B were acting we were getting the

dragon. 2B were great at the Indonesian. By Kayden
