Exclusive Pitch Sessions

A global delegation from Grant Thornton visited the Bangalore warehouse on 1st February, for an overview of the NASSCOM 10,000 Startups and NIPP initiatives. The delegation was also keen to interact with 2 startups - Spotlight & Company and Mquotient, who presented their solutions in the space of ‘Audit’ and ‘Data Digitization’ respectively.

A pitch session between Beatest (part of NASSCOM for Start-ups warehouse program) and ICICI Bank was conducted to explore solutions regarding their AI enabled recruitment solution. The session was conducted on 26th January at the Kolkata Warehouse. Both groups participated with enthusiasm and were eager to explore future prospects of association.

A one-on-one meeting with John Deere Financial was organized on 29th January at the Bangalore Warehouse. The event was conducted with the aim of helping them plan their upcoming startup engagement program in Bangalore. The visiting team found the interactions to be a great opportunity to understand the expectations from the startups. Prominent representatives who were part of the visiting delegation included Andrew Traeger - Senior Vice President, Global Risk and R2, Felix Frie - Regional Vice President of International Finance, Satyen Shah - Managing Director, John Deere Financial India, Lilian Yin - Managing Director, John Deere Financial China, Boon Tay - Managing Director, John Deere Leasing Thailand and Sumeet Mantri - John Deere Financial IT Lead, India & Thailand. Some of the participating startups that are incubated in the Bangalore Warehouse and had the opportunity to interact with them include Digiledge, mQuotient and RadiiusCard.

The leadership team from Swiss Re, comprising of Anand Kanakagiri – Senior VP, Global IT-Life & Health, Philip Walker – CEO, iptiQ & Vineet Bansal – CTO, iptiQ, visited the 10,000 Startups Bangalore Warehouse on 24th January. NIPP hosted the representatives of iptiQ (subsidiary of Swiss Re), a white labeling platform for insurance companies, for a discussion that primarily focused on an overview of NASSCOM, along with the current Indian GCC Market & Startup Ecosystem. The discussions were followed by a presentation by Vitor Health Sciences Pvt. Ltd., a healthcare start-up incubated at the Bangalore Warehouse.

The senior leadership team from Societe Generale visited the Bangalore Warehouse on 5th February, for a pitch session by startups in the field of ‘Enterprise Platform’. The representatives from Societe Generale included Anne Michele - Head of Open Platforms and Priya Shetty - Chief of Staff. Participating startups such as Wooqer, Innohabit Technologies & Toolyt presented their solutions to the team which was followed by tour of the warehouse facility.

The Bangalore Warehouse hosted the IT leadership delegation from John Deere Financial on 14th February. The team interacted with startups to ascertain synergies in the areas of Loan Management, Loan Processing, and Customer Experience Enhancement. Loktra, Esthenos, BankBuddy, Toolyt and PY Technologies were among the startups that presented their solutions during the session.

The Global Finance Delegation from Hindustan Unilever Ltd. was hosted at the Bangalore Warehouse on 18th February. The session displayed a large turn out with 40+ delegates from the corporate, gathering to meet 7 startups from the warehouse. Startups such as Toolyt, Dataweave, FirstHive, Scapic, Davi.ai, Tagbox and Vaultedge Software pitched their solutions during the session and were happy to receive positive feedback from the visiting team

The leadership team from Prudential Global Services visited the Bangalore Warehouse on 13th March, headed by Bhavna Hingorani - Executive Director, Global Service Captive Offshore Lead and Nilendu Bose - Analytics Practice Lead. The team interacted with 4 startups - Goplannr, Toolyt, WebMobi and SwitchOn pitched their solutions and explored possible collaborations for the future.

The Allegion Leadership Delegation visited the Bangalore Warehouse on 1st March, along with their India leadership team. The visit was in-line with Allegion’s intention to explore synergies with startups in India, particularly those focusing on ‘Security’ as their area of interest. The session facilitated productive discussions between the visiting delegation and attending start-ups and both parties were keen to collaborate further.

As part of TieCon Mumbai, NIPP organized a CXO Roundtable discussion, on 6th February, comprising industry leaders across various sectors, with the topic in focus being: ‘How Open Innovation is turning out to be a key component of Digital Transformation in large organizations’. It was an apt platform for the leaders to share their perspectives on the various innovation programs being implemented by them, their best practices and learnings in start-up engagement, advantages of accelerator programs and how they perceive the future of such collaborations. Participating corporates included Prudential Global Services, Tata Communications,  Unilever, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, ICICI Bank and Mondelez India.

Pinnacle Infotech Workshop

A workshop was organized with Pinnacle Infotech, at the Kolkata Warehouse, on 8th March. Being led by Biswaroop Todi – CTO, Pinnacle Infotech, he interacted with founders from the 10,000 Startups warehouse program. The workshop particularly included startups  in the fields of Home & Industrial Automation, Augmented/Virtual Reality, Startup Marketplaces and Recruitment Assessments. Some of the key points that the workshop focused on, included growth area and strategic road maps with the intention of exploring mutual business synergies and benefits.

The Digital and IT Leadership delegation from Raymond was hosted at the Bangalore Warehouse on 12th February. The team interacted with prominent startups through a roundtable discussion, to understand the trends in Fashion-tech and explore synergies with startups for further collaborations.

HERE Technologies Ideation Roundtable with Startups

NIPP hosted an ideation session for HERE Technologies which attracted the participation of several startups from the Gurgaon & Noida Warehouses. The event took place in the Gurgaon Warehouse on 13th February and was curated to align with the current focus areas of HERE Technologies such as, Mapping Solutions, Telematics, Autonomous Vehicles, Urban Transport, Smart Cities, Spatial Data and Analytics. Startups that had the opportunity to pitch their solutions to the leadership team include Zap, Drona  Maps, Peer XP, EMPASS, Dron Study, SGR Labs & Civil Cops.

A NASSCOM-IBM GCC Roundtable was held with Bob Lord - Chief Digital Officer, IBM, on 13th March at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Bangalore. The session served as a platform for thought leaders from the industry to share their perspectives on the emergence of new paradigms of open source & innovation, and accelerate the power of co-creation, for enhanced innovation & enterprise building capabilities for the future. The roundtable included leaders from 15+ corporates like Allstate, Credit Suisse Services India, Axis Bank, Morgan Stanley, Sony, Swiss Re, Wallmart, Wells Fargo, Aricent, Flipkart, Verizon, Manthan, Pitney Bowes, CISCO, Titan and Kotak. The roundtable, moderated by Kritika Murugesan – Director, NASSCOM 10,000 Startups & Sanjeev Malhotra - CEO - NASSCOM COE-IOT, highlighted interesting insights on the various topics of discussion.

HERE Technologies Student Developer Workshop

A student connect session was organized with HERE Technologies for the students of SIES Graduate School of Technology, on 30th March, at SIES campus in Mumbai. A Total of 75 students attended the session that consisted of several workshops featuring prominent leaders from HERE Technologies. The agenda was designed to help students learn skills related to building embedded and mobile navigation solutions with HERE SDKs, among other competences. Sessions consisted of an SDK Overview by Aamer Khan – HERE Technologies at SIEDD GST, Navi Mumbai and a Letzmapindia campaign by Bineesh Raveendran – Project Lead, Data Operations, HERE Technologies and Ajay Dixit - Sr. SME, Here Technologies.

Mitsui Leadership Visit

The Bangalore Warehouse hosted Shigeo Yanai - GM of Transportation Projects Division and Sokichiro Tsuji – AGM, both from Mitsui & Co. India, during their visit on 12th March. The aim of the session was for them to imbibe an understanding of the Indian startup ecosystem and explore opportunities for mutually beneficial associations.

NIPP in association with KONE, as part of their Global Partnership in India and through the Flow Labs initiative, organized a webinar and leadership meet-up on 8th January, in Bangalore. Flow Labs is an initiative that aims to improve the flow of urban life through more effective people flow, making journeys safe, convenient & reliable, in taller, smarter buildings. The webinar and meet-up helped startups discover and be a part of KONE’s breakthrough People Flow Ecosystem. As many as 30 handpicked startups attended the meet-up and exchanged ideas on how to collaborate with KONE to provide futuristic solutions.

F6S Innovation Summit

An innovation summit was organized in partnership with F6S, at the Bangalore Warehouse on 22nd January. Post the welcome speech, the summit proceeded with a keynote about the uniqueness of the Indian Ecosystem and a rapid fire pitch session with 8-10 startups. This was followed by an address on the Open Innovation Practices in India, by a key corporate leader. As many as 40+ startups attended the session and appreciated the insights gained.

A Townhall session with Rishad Premji - Chairman, NASSCOM and Chief Strategy Officer, Wipro, was organized at NASSCOM 10,000 Startups Warehouse in Bangalore on 30th January. Besides being open to NASSCOM employees, the significant event also saw the inclusion of startups associated with initiatives such as Emerge 50 Awards, Deeptech Club, NIPP, 10,000 Startups, CoE for Data Science & Artificial Intelligence and IoT. Attending startups were excited to be part of the exclusive opportunity to interact with the NASSCOM leadership and discuss their thoughts, views and expectations. During the event, NASSCOM leads for various initiatives interacted with the audience to understand more about how the programs can optimally leverage the NASSCOM ecosystem. Overall, the event was successful with valuable interactions and prominent leaders in attendance.

As part of the ongoing Catalyst Accelerator Program for Societe Generale, a webinar was conducted on 19th February. The session was led by Rathnaprabha M. – Head, Innovation & Digital Transformation, Societe Generale, who gave an overview of their businesses in the opening note, following which her team explained the details of the Catalyst program, to the audience. The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session during which startup founders were given an insight into the 4th edition of Catalyst, based on extensive interest expressed by them.

A series of connect sessions were organized by NIPP across Gurgaon, Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai, as part of the 4-month long mentorship program for highly curated deep-tech industry product companies from NASSCOM Deeptech Club’s second cohort. The sessions focused on key support areas identified by startups and addressed the same during the meetup, including connecting them with prospective enterprise clients and investors to get feedback on their product, explore business and funding opportunities and synergies for collaborations

NASSCOM - Credit Suisse Innovation Challenge

NASSCOM 10,000 Start-ups, in association with Credit Suisse organized an Innovation Challenge through NASSCOM Industry Partnership Program (NIPP), between February and March 2019. The challenge invited Technology Experts to share a critical and unbiased view on the business problems presented, based on their areas of interest. The challenge presented an opportunity for startups to analyze and develop insights-driven strategies to improve Business and Technology operations, and to share an “outside-in” perspective that aim to address specific business problems

Participants were encouraged to take a holistic view of the presented problem statements and unlock greater value through either of the following:

• Ready-to-use solutions that could be tweaked to address the given problem statement

• Build from scratch ML and AI based solutions

• Solution ideas in the form of an architecture design

The challenge attracted the participation of over 40 teams, with submissions across 5 use cases and through an exhaustive evaluation process 21 teams made it to the final round of evaluation. The finalists went through 2 mentoring sessions and the top team from each of the 5 use cases were declared as the winners post evaluation. The 5 winning teams expressed their joy in being part of the Innovation Challenge and having had the opportunity to interact with the extended Credit Suisse leadership team, while in turn, being appreciated for the high-quality solutions presented by them.

It was an opportunity for the winners:

• To showcase their solution to Credit Suisse leadership at their Pune facility, on 6th March, as part of a grand event

• To get felicitated by the Credit Suisse Management team on the same event.

The NIPP Mobility Challenge is all set to unfold between April and June, 2019. The grand finale is to take place at the Bangalore Warehouse on 20th June, followed by the winners’ felicitation on the NIPP Innovation Day on 21st June ’19. The challenge is designed to kick-start the process of fostering engagement between corporates & innovative technology ventures, and connect emerging solutions with existing industry problems. The challenge is designed to unearth solutions in Logistics, Transport and Telecom sectors. It will also pave the way towards building a comprehensive forum for enterprises and start-ups to come together and explore new opportunities for ideation and collaboration.
