Merit Awards
We are at the end of another long and busy term and everyone is looking forward to a restful holiday. We have
had many students away with illness in the last week or two so, hopefully, the term break will provide some
sunshine and an opportunity to re-charge the batteries! Term three will start on Monday 1st August.
Inter-Intermediate Boys Rugby
The Inter-Intermediate Boys Rugby Team competed inMatamata last week. They had mixed results throughoutthe day with a close loss to Cambridge in their rst game, the score was even until an unlucky penalty after thehooter lost them the game. Their second game resultedin a win against Matamata and the nal game nished in aloss against a well-drilled team from Te Awamutu.
The boys had an enjoyable day and their team work
improved throughout the competition.
Thanks to the parents who took transport and supportedthe boys throughout the day.
We are saying farewell to Aloma Williams, Aotea TeamLeader and Room 11 Teacher tomorrow. Aloma haswon a position as Year 7 and 8 Dean at WhangamataArea School.
Although we congratulate Aloma on winning the job,we will all be very sad to see her leave MIS.
Over the past eight years Aloma has proven to be anextremely valuable member of both our teaching andmanagement team. I know all the students andfamilies who have worked with Aloma, as well as MISSta, will join with me and wish her all the very best inher new job.
