World War II pilot and Purple Heart recipient, Grandpa Bill Hurter, came in to speak about his military service during World W ar II. We enjoyed hearing Mr. Hurter share his stories and answer our questions. Thank yo u to the entire Hurter family for taking the time to come in to our cl assroom and make our Veterans Day so meaningful. Please be sure to mark your calendars with the additional dates I ad ded to the left. We have a very busy coup le weeks comi ng up before Thanksgi ving break. This next week, we have a States and Capitals test, a Health test and a Rock Cycle test. Please be sur e your child spends time each night preparing for the tests. Our class has been assigned canned vegetables for the Thanksgiving Foo d Drive. For every 20 cans we collect, your children will earn a Wonderfu l tally. Additionally, the Bulb Brigade will take place on November 21 st . If you have any flower bulbs you would like to donate for this special event, please s end them in. Also on Mo nday, we will have Metric Olympi cs. We are looking for several parent volunteers to help with this exciting event. Math Club is on Tuesday this week.
