All the best to our ISAC boys soccer and girls

On Wednesday, January 31, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Elementary will have their Goal Setting

Conferences and Grade 6 – 11 will have their Student-Teacher-Parent conferences. Classes

will be adjusted to accommodate all 7 periods in elementary and 4 blocks in MHS. All students

will be dismissed at 12:00 noon. Student buses will leave school at 12:15 PM. For parents who

are able to schedule a conference between 1:00 and 1:30, students may stay at school and

meet parents here. However, for all other scheduled conferences, students must be picked

up and return with their parents at the scheduled conference time.

As a quick reminder on how to sign up through the family portal, these are the steps:

1. Log-in to the Family Portal - http://portal.cis.edu.ph/Family/

2. The sign-ups are in the CONFERENCE SIGNUPS tab.

3. Conference labels are

• ELEMENTARY: SY1718 T2 Preschool-G5 Goal Conferences.

• GR 6 – GR 11: SY1718 G6-G11 Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences

4. Double click the title and your child’s/ children’s name will appear on the right side.

5. Double click your child’s name & a schedule grid will appear at the bottom portion of

the page.

6. Double click on the column labelled with the teacher’s name & on the row

corresponding with the time you have chosen.

For elementary from Kinder to GR 5, parents will join students in their classrooms, and along

with teachers, review the goals your child has set for himself or herself for the coming weeks

of learning. Each grade level has set up different goal setting procedures, but all of them

want your feedback and input into the process. Parents of our pre-schoolers will be meeting

the teachers, without their preschool children. Grade 6 – 11 students will be joined by their

parents to meet their teachers.

See you all on Wednesday!

Have a wonderful weekend with family and friends!

Dr. Ted Mockrish, K-12 Principal

For our Week Without Walls (we have invited local Highschool students to participate

together with a selection of our students in an Eco-Leadership Training. Together we will put

on a Plastic Waste Reduction Conference for students and community members on the last

day of WWW Thursday, February the 15th. As part of the awareness campaign, students will

be handing out reusable shopping bags at Gaisano Mall, working with eco bricks at the

Mandaue dumpsite, and creating plastic sculptures with Mr. Duran-Webb as symbols of the

impact plastic pollution has on

sea creatures. In order for this to

be successful.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

• Please collect any type of clean plastic at home and bring this to school. In order to design

the art pieces, we need to know the materials we can work with. (Examples: bags, take-out

containers, utensils, straws, candy and chip wrappers, bottles, etc.)

•If you have ample reusable shopping bags at home and would like to donate some for

students to hand out to shoppers, please drop these off in a bin in the front lobby.

•Collect small plastic pieces in big soda bottles to make more Eco-Bricks and bring these to

school. More information on how to do this can be found at www.ecobricks.org/how

Thank you for your support

Dear parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed Sinulog Family Day! I know the day was very different from previous

years, but I hope it was enjoyable for everyone. We will be sending a survey via email soon

and we would really appreciate your honest feedback so we can improve the Fiesta Lunch

next year. I really want to thank Jean Saclo for all of her hard work on the event. We would

not have had a Fiesta Lunch if she had not dedicated so much time and energy to serving

the community. Please thank her when you see her! We also want to thank Ms. Jane Sabandal

for the time she spent on pricing and ordering food.

100% of the Homeroom Funds were used to cover the cost of the catering, so the extra costs

for food items that were not provided by the caterers were covered by the PTA general fund.

However, we did receive some generous donations from our community which covered

much of the cost of the roasted vaca and lechon baboy. Many thanks go to the Board of

Trustees, ECC (English Cebu Center), CIEC (Cebu Ivy Education Center), and Ms. Joanna

Lhuillier! If we missed your name, please accept our apologies and thanks for your donations

and support as well.

On another note, the PTA Board and entire CIS Community would like to welcome all newly

enrolled families. We hope you are all settling in well. Please email us at [email protected] if

you have any questions. concerns, or ideas concerning the parent community.

A more detailed letter from the PTA will be coming to your inbox soon. Until then, thanks again

for your support and enjoy your weekend!

Wendy Tanagho, CIS PTA President
