Many partici-pants smiled and laughed throughout the two hour program. Serika Michino shared that aside from the fun games, she thor-oughly enjoyed interacting and play-ing games with people that she usu-ally doesn’t have a chance to talk to.

“I spoke to AIMS students, Thai students, staff and faculty as well. It was a good time to make friends and have fun with them!” She also com-mended the organizers for the smooth organization of the event.

Michael Paul expressed that he would like to see more of these game activities in the future. “This was the

first time and it was nice to have all stu-dents, faculty and staff mem-bers gather and play to-gether. I think we should have the University social night again.”

AIU alumni reunion dinner at Sabah, Malaysia

On Thursday, June 16, 2011, Asia-Pacific International University

hosted an Alumni Dinner Gathering at Tang Dynasty Lodge Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. More than 20 alumni repre-senting Southeast Asia Union College (SAUC) and Mission College (MC) attended the dinner.

Prior to coming to Sabah for a lead-ership seminar, the University admin-istrators saw a great opportunity to get together with the Sabahan alumni dur-ing their trip. University President Dr Loren Agrey commented that it was indeed an honor to meet the alumni.

“The chance to reminisce was fun and to enjoy the company of alumni for the evening was truly a pleasure. We hope we can reconnect again soon.”

Haris Mintu (SAUC ’95) shared that the gathering reminded him of college memories such as Talent and Cultural nights, Homecoming, Bible camps and

more. “I am proud to be an alumnus of SAUC. I treasure my friendships from SAUC among college mates and fac-ulty members who are very close to my heart. My years at SAUC were among the best I’ve had.”

Lola Bingku (SAUC ‘98) shared that the get-together was wonderful in spite of the small number of SAUCians. “I felt reconnected in a way.”

For Tenny Jokoh (MC ’03), the din-ner opened doors for alumni to meet with the University administrators, get reacquainted with classmates and also to get updates about the developments of the University. “My heart was filled with gratitude…I hope to have another reunion again!”

Many thanks to Mr Stephen Loo, Education Director of Sabah Mission, for his kind assistance in helping orga-nize this gathering.

San Lakena and Porm KeosamoneArts and Humanities welcome party

The Faculty of Arts and Humani-ties officially welcomed their

freshmen as regular students on Thurs-day, June 16, 2011. The party took place in the church dining hall from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

The event started out with a speech given by Mrs Ritha Lampadan, the

Faculty Dean In her message, “A happy ending has been guaranteed for us” (Rev. 21:4) was an appeal made to all the students and staff. Additionally, “God also promises to be with us in the present” ( Jos. 1:9), she concluded.

Unlike the usual way of self-intro-duction, the new students were intro-duced by the seniors who then plied each one of them with an unexpected question which brought laughter to the atmosphere.

The colorful decoration and the sat-isfying food completed the hospitality of the party.
