Notices and Forthcoming Events Normandy 2010: The party returning to Normandy is now complete. 40 people are travelling (including the Driver). Anybody else interested in this trip must now go on the waiting list. Give your names to Kitty Burge. For those who are going, the itinerary is being worked on and you will receive that information as soon as it is dealt with. For those who have not already done so your final payment is due. See Kitty Burge please. Overlord appeal: An amount of £1500 has been received from the Overlord appeal towards the cost of Normandy Veterans of this Branch travelling to Normandy this year. It is the result of a list of names given in to Kitty Burge and means that £100 each has being deducted from the cost of the pilgrimage from those on the list. Anybody travelling to Normandy this year and not on the list will have to apply direct to the Overlord Appeal via Peter Hodge, Tel: 01179-465048 / Mobile: 07831357424. Whitehall: An NVA Service of Remembrance and Wreath-laying will take place in Whitehall on Sunday 27th June next. Veterans will assemble in King Charles Street at 1.30pm for a march to the Cenotaph for Service at 2.00pm. The Branch will send a coach, departing from the T.A Centre, Aylsham Road, at 8.00am. After the Parade dismissal the Branch party will return home via the Green Man P.H. at Six Mile Bottom for supper. The cost is £10 per person. Names and payments to Kitty Burge please. Imphal Barracks: At the present time we've heard no more about the open day at Imphal Barracks York. We will however keep you in touch with developments there as they arise. Meanwhile a visit as previously stated is still on the cards. Interested? Names to Kitty Burge please. Seaside Special Show: A full day's outing to Cromer during the Summer months to visit the Seaside Special Show on the Pier is being organised for the middle of August. The cost of the outing will be £10 each person (subsidized). Interested! See Kitty Burge. Armed Forces Week: This takes place from the 21st to the 27th June this year. A Norwich programme of events is being organized and so far is as follows: Monday 21st; Flag Raising at the City Hall at 10.30am; Tuesday 22nd; Exhibition at the Forum 9am to 5pm; Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th; Film showings on screens in Chapel Field and the Forum. Friday 25th; Gala Dinner at the T.A Centre Aylsham Road. 7.30pm till late, max 100 places. Cost £15 per head. Dancing to the Jonathan Wyatt Small Band. Ticket applications to Kitty Burge. Saturday 26th June; possibly a Military Band Concert in the evening at the John Innes Institute. Sunday 27th Parade; Service and March through the City, to be confirmed. Collections: The collections programme for 2010 got under way with a weekend collection at Morrisons Supermarket Lowestoft. where Peter Hemp and Ken Knowles amassed £520 between them. Our thanks go to them.
